Great race, great cars, great track last night  Grin

Some excellent racing with Matt, Ade and TT in the first half and spanner and Matt in the second half. All very close with very little mistakes. The grids may be a little smaller these days but the quality of the racing is still excellent.  Smiley

...took meds to see if I could keep up with NSfast, who I managed to get in the way
of for a while. Your braking was wayyyy later than I could manage, and your speed through 130R
and the final chicane seemed a lot quicker too. What tyres?

I was on meds all round Matt.  Smiley I didn't notice you braking a lot earlier than me. The difference in our lap times was mainly due to me carrying more speed throught 130R.

Not being a fan of downforce I did enjoy this Cool a very frantic drive,

First a sorry to TT for the hit at the hairpin Embarrassed totally missed my brake point, Was fun till the pitstop when i got a stop

go for speeding Huh don't know why? i was early on the limiter at the overhead banner well before the line.

Nice stuff H@l thanks for organising the fun.

                                                               Cheers Ade

Surprised myself with qually, sitting right behind the top aliens then it looks like i have Matt to thank for holding up nsfast in the first half of the race as i had a quiet race in the first half. Even contemplated leaving the tyres on before the stop but common sense prevailed, stopping just after half time. Came out and saw nsfast had got past matt and realised i was going to be under pressure towards the end and managed to stay ahead, which might have been because of some lairy moments trying to stay ahead!

Fantastic race. Smiley

I had Lazlow and Ginsters applying pressure right from the start. We took it in turns to make mistakes and Lazlow was just in front of me when we both pitted at the same time, half way through the race. I had to drive quite close and tight around Lazlow to get to my pit as he was in the box just before mine. I took on fuel and changed both sets of hard tyres. I could not have made mediums last.

Lazlow exited the pits before me and by the time I was back on the track he had an 8 second lead. I tried not to let the gap get any bigger and was just about holding on for a while.

Lazlow then had an incident that gave me the lead back. We had a close chase to the end after that and were very close on the last lap till Lazlow went do or die at 130R...  Grin

Thanks all, see you next time. Smiley

Going to be tricky round here. Softs are far faster but how long will they last? Low 54's with softs and 50L

I saw this post and thought everyone was gonna go with softs, looks like I was the only one that did. Spanner is  cannier than I thought Wink

Only place that NSfast seemed later on the brakes was into final chicane, but it seemed a LOT later
maybe you were just better at riding the kerbs and didn't need to anchor up as much as I did.
If I went in any faster I spun in prac. Took team leader's advice on wing settings (though I was away
hence no response) hard rears would have easily lasted the race, but the fronts would have been canvas
Tried not changing tyres in Aussie, but I lost more time in the 2nd half than the tyre change time
The hards didn't seem much slower than meds, but on reflection I probably should have stopped
at half way and used meds for both halfs.

I usually use meds. Hards only in case of need of handling the tyre temps. Can't remember to see hards last any longer than the meds. Smiley

Mediums all round for me....worked like a charm Wink
As for braking into the last chicane.....a little tip that helped me during the 24hr race we did a few weeks ago, is not to brake too hard...I was braking far harder than I needed to which was scrubbing off to much speed.

my race turned out pretty much as i expected, i had only done about an hours praccy for the race (although i did a GT1 race on this track in a different league in 2009 so i wasnt learning the track from scratch)

i kept it out of the barriers and made a few places when others had problems!
