The Panoz will be good around here (no pressure Legzy Wink).
Yeah was too easy, so decided to continue my own 'Race of Champions' format & picked my 3rd car for the 3rd race, this time going with the M3 Cool.
It'll cost me 50% off my points total, but it's not like I was in 2nd place in the championship before the race or anything Wink Shocked.
I decided before the previous race (Mugello) that I can't see us getting another GT2 season here, so I'd enjoy a farewell series, saying goodbye to the best GT2 has to offer, with a different car in each race & enjoy the cars & race by race experience rather than worry about my points.

Any how, the BMW is a bit lardy for this track, but gets some time back with it's raw speed (as poor Zac found out Grin, he had to work mighty hard to get his snail paced F430 past), so was not great or terrible choice here at all. Smiley

Anyhow, had lots of close racing tonight, with Spanner, NsFast, Zac particularly. So thanks all, for a good night & clean racing once more Cool.

A nice race for me. The 1st half was trying to keep up with SBG in his Bi-T which was awesome down the straights. I surprised myself by being able to keep with his pace, then around the 25min mark I think his tyres started to go off a little and I managed to get past. It was great chasing him and our pace seemed quite matched so when I went into the pits I decided for no tyres, that gave me about a 30s lead.
After all the stops I just had to managed the gap as best I could and ended the race with about a 10s lead. I wish I'd taken new tyres now because it would've made for some great racing but I guess I should just grateful for the win Cool

MJ I ran 2-7 wing and didn't run over those nasty curbs as everytime I tried that in praccy I ended up spinning.

Nice racing guys

Yep, welcome back Zac Smiley

Sorry to Matt for rather forcing my way past towards the end. I was pushing like mad but no excuse really.

Went with med/hard with the aim of staying with them all race. Sadly for me, I couldn't get them working all that well and Jon passed me just before pit. Went back to soft/med and all was well for 2nd half of race, but my pit crew had done all the damage by then. Congrats to Jon, TT and all.

2/8 wing for me and tried to stay away from those kerbs as much as I could.

Much better balance between Lambo (at least in Jons hands) and BiT here. Hopefully the upcoming tracks bring the 430 into play as well  Smiley

Cyu Tuesday. Should be good.

Too true!  It reminded me of the times I used to race the Gillet Vertigo when everyone would blast away down the straights only for me to get held up round the twisty bits.  It was great fun though, nice to be able to battle that close and know you can trust the people you're racing with!

Great back racing GTR2 again!

Great to see you back mate Cool

Was using 2-5 wing here in F430 and even that left me for dead by any other car on a straight. Fezza's great around the corners, though, feels like the race car should, imo. Smiley

I wouldn't discard GT2s yet, Legzy. GTR2's not dead and GT2 is quite popular with the crowd. Would be a shame to end all this. Smiley

Some interesting "tactics" . I thought you were supposed to start when the guy in front turned off his light
not when you think it's about time he should have   Shocked Then when you shove someone into a wall, it's customary to
wait, even if you are faster...no matter.

No worries SBG I wandered off track trying to give you room, you didn't force anything
Had some fun trying to keep Ade behind, and was mostly managing it, until I kept sticking a wheel over a particular
kerb, sneaked past on his splash and dash.

only managed about 40 mins practice for this race, so the plan was to keep it off the barriers and make up some places if anyone else had problems. unfortunately leaking washing machine+moaning GF meant i had to park it after the startline for 10 minutes before getting back on the computer to continue the rest of the race, still at least i picked up some points and got past H@L when he had problems!

ooh, i believe thats a slight dig at moi  Tongue  you balls'ed your start so i went around and past you! Looked like you left your limiter on too long?, as soon as you cross that s/f line your a target buddy  Smiley
As for shoving you in a wall late on in race, hmm.. I kept my line and you tried going round the outside into a chicaned kink! Not seen the replay but i intentionally didnt deviate as lost sight of you in my right quarter. Sorry if its what caused you to thump the wall, didnt intend any malice but i was in an uncomprising mood after losing out so badly in the pits again....but then you could have backed out  Wink Apologies anyway. angel

Seems i had similar wing as others, 2-6,  and i stayed well off the kerbs and no spins, but just a lack of talent then left me in the tail end of grid.  Embarrassed

Chortle
Didn't realise that we can go as soon as we cross the line, I'll remember that next time
I dawdle a bit. No idea who was at fault for the bump, to me it seemed that you messed up
the previous corner, so it was ram or go for a pass, was a bit miffed that I then ended up
in the wall. No sweat, "racing incident"

I think your'll find you can go when the car ahead goes, not neccessarily when you cross the line.

Interesting race with people to race against which i wasnt expecting, good fun running with nsfast, Legzy etc

MJ i dont think your late stops help you at all. I started on full tanks stopped around half way, added 20L and changed tyres. But with the new tyres comes more grip. I think on my first or second timed lap after my stop i set my fastest time, meanwhile your struggling on old tyres and when you do stop you dont have too long to use the tyres.

Do you know, I did not know that. For years, I have been starting the same way as MJ. ie: you go when the person in front goes or you cross the start line, which ever happens first. But checking the rules again, Spanner is right. Apologies to anyone I might have benefitted against Embarrassed angel, though I'm puzzled why the rule is not as I thought Undecided

The way I've understood the rule is you're supposed to go when the guy in front of you goes. Pole sitter switches limiter off at the start line, and everyone should just switch off in sequence so the whole grid is racing almost instantly.

Of course this never happens, instead everyone waits till the start line and by the time I get there the lead is usually halfway around the track. Tongue
