Hi,

Ginetto have done a fix for this track and this is a testrace for that fix.

To install the fix, take the original track and then put in a Remy update you find it here: http://srmz.net/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=10807

And then the fix you find that here: http://srmz.net/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=15286

The race will be with the original 1967 cars and int. long. Shif-r is allowed but make a S&G after, the more stuff we test the better.

Race List =         iGOR
Server =            UKGPL_T7_2
IP Address =       62.149.202.168
Race date =       08-04-2011
Time =              21.00 UK time
Track =             USGP1960 with Remo update and Ginetto fix
Variant =           67 cars
Damage Model =  INT
Qualifying time = 35 minutes. Do not start until 30 min left.
Race length =     INT Long (24 laps)

No PW and all is welcome.

Shouldn't we run more than 6 laps to test screen freeze? It often happens much later in a race. Perhaps at least an Int Long or something?

So what has suddenly gone wrong with Riverside?

Don't recall all this trouble years ago.

I remember not wanting to touch the sand at the edge of the track because it sucked you off the track!

I agree with H: we should test it at least for 45'

I wonder as well, and not only Riverside, but other tracks as well. All was fine with many of them up until around the release of the V2 D3D rasterizer and the 67 patch, but it seems there is never a single cause for screen freeze. Sometimes the cause seems to be on the client side and sometimes on the server side, leading to multiple players experiencing it.

As for the sand, it can be used to make the car turn-in better!  Grin

Sorry, I never meant it to be anything else than a normal INT Long race.

I'll try to join for this one, if I can sort the fix.  I am not sure how to do this, sorry for being a numpty  Huh

The first link downloads a compressed file with about a gazillion files in it, but no .exe (unless I missed it).  What do I need to do with them?  I was guessing that they should be copied to my Usgp1960 folder (in the 'tracks' folder), but that only has about 10 files in it, hence didn't seem right.  Haven't got to the second link yet.  Do I need to delete the original before starting with the download?

Cheers,

Bob.

Install the original track, then just copy files from those fixes into the gpl/tracks/usgp1960 folder (or whatever it's called), overwriting anything if it asks about it.

H, this is the right way:

1) rename your actual gpl/tracks/usgp1960 folder to usgp1960_old or whatever you like
2) extract the usgp1960 "ready to use" folder from Remy's compressed file to your gpl/tracks folder
3) extract the Ginetto fix files from the second compressed file to your new usgp1960 folder and overwrite the existing files with the same file when asked

I'm sure you can just overwrite the original folder because it's the same track, using the same folder, but yeah, your way works too. Not done it myself yet, will see tomorrow. Smiley

Okay, thanks for the instructions guys, I'll give it a go.  I was thinking along the same lines as H, but when I saw the big discrepancy between the number of files in my existing folder and in the download, I wasn't sure.

I have done the download and update and it all appears to work. The scenery is much nicer, but the sand is still very sticky!!  Undecided
