Not as many venues as last year, no Croft or Knockhill available for the trackday experience? I will probably book Oulton too, so see you there James.

James, during the booking process it mentioned the Advanced Experience for £195 but I couldn't see anywhere to upgrade to that. Any ideas? Not sure of I would or not, but you would likely get a lot more track time.

I have now seen the details for this on the main page (Performance School) but still can't see where you can book it. I might wing an email off to them asking if you can upgrade.

Thats some dirt cheap track time. You don't even have to pay for gas, tires, brakes or any other wear and tear.
My first race of the season is April 15th. It's that time of year again fellas!

It's incredible isn't it - such good value! Good luck with the racing Mike, I'll look forward to some onboard goodness when you get around to it Ken I've been checking daily for weeks but there were 8 slots for the Performance School and apparently they went in the first two minutes of the site being live. That's all of them across the three tracks! Really flippin' annoying, it's even worse as a mate's managed to get a slot for Oulton - I'm just trying not to think about it or I may well up :'(. Anyway that's great you'll be at Oulton for the track day, look forward to catching up with you there. Note to self - stay off the pies for the karting comp! Looks really tempting & I'd do it, but will settle for you punting me off at T1 virtually for now Oily If you don't come I'll just step up the offensive, I was at Brands at the weekend so I've got a few new BTCC moves to try

Ah right, I see.
Yes, gotta get in to shape for the karting. Looks like you get a bit more of a relaxed day. Maybe relaxed is the wrong word, but it was the same cost for half a day last time, and without the other activities. Hopefully there wont be as much queueing.

Enjoyable time at Oulton for the VXR event yesterday. Met up with James and his mates and thrashed some Corsa's and Insignia's to death round the full circuit. Oulton is such a great track, come on iRacing, get your fingers out!!! The karting event was nearly the highlight of the day. Oily and myself hooked up with two other guys to make a four man team for the 75 min 'Endurance' race. Unfortunately one of them, whilst being quite quick was also a bit hot headed. Anyway he ran the first stint and within the first 5 mins he'd been black flagged for bumping and instead of taking his penalty and getting on with it he sat in pitlane and argued with the officials. So before we knew it we were 5 laps down on the leader. Anyway with steady drives from Oily and the other lad (sorry forgot his name, help me out James) we managed to get back up to about 3rd, albeit still a lap down, going in to the final stint by my good self. So I just got my head down and kept passing everything in front of me and towards the end I could see the team hanging over the barriers with the thumbs up. Soon after I was shown the chequered and we'd won by about 10 secs!!! In the words of Sid Waddell, “That's the greatest comeback since Lazarus.”

Those marks are subjective of course. I know that cause my sister in law beat us Didn't get those scores mind, nice one Ken. Got my day at Thruxton as a surprise birthday treat and it was excellent value again. The karting was ace but there we had more time queuing for the cars which was a shame.

If Carling made days for petrolheads.... Cracking day at the track all in all - after being spoilt the first two years with fairly minimal queues, Anglesey last year was a little frustrating with so much time spent hanging around, however this year I think they got it more or less bang on. With activities starting at 8:30am and finishing at 5pm with a gap for lunch, we really got our money's worth this time out. Loads of track time (think I got six runs of 3 laps each in the end), ages being a hooligan on the autotest and then a chance to practice some raceraft in the karting enduro. I was grinning all the way home. I also drove slower than usual which means I think I actually got close to getting the need for speed out of my system which is a rarity LOL. Really nice to meet Ken finally and even nicer to find out he's a bit handy in a kart . What a nailbiter that enduro was! As Ken mentioned - we were getting a little concerned after our first driver on track got black flagged and decided to spend what seemed like an eternity arguing with any official that would listen, but boy did we pull that back nicely! In the end I'm glad it worked out how it did, was timed almost to perfection thanks to some decisive moves by Mr. Murray at the end there. Could waffle on all day about it but suffice to say £125 is an absolute steal, I can't recommend it enough and I hope we get a few more SROU peeps at the next one if they run it again. Managed to film one of my runs if anyone fancies a peep - doesn't look anywhere near as fast as it felt I have to admit but hopefully it still gives you a bit of a feel for the day... Few laps in a Corsa - http://youtu.be/Jii1St64GlcPiccies from the day - http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1854860573804.2095231.1309503046&l=d22201fdca&type=1

Dont, your'll set MJ off Hmm.. I like how you put the music on there to hide the instructor telling you what to do! Not sure about that two fingured vulcan death grip on the wheel, 10 to 2 shouldnt it be?

Ahh those vids still brings a smile to my face too, they were without a doubt the most fun times for me at Srou. There have probably been many technically better battles on track in iR but some of those races will go down in my fairly humble online racing history as classics. Let's be honest though, that Le Mans video was pretty rubbish wasn't it lol - some great action but captured in the lamest quality going, glad I sorted it out for your starring role in the Loch Rannoch one!
Spanner I hate you lol! I always got in trouble on previous track days for not relaxing and holding the wheel too tight so I was making a real effort to do fingertips only to really feel what the car was doing rather than wrestling it. For some unknown reason it seems to have gone the other way and turned into some camp looking wine glass grip instead!
The tunes are just me being modest as always, the guy wouldn't shut up about the fact I wasn't even in GP2 yet. I explained once you've experienced success as a Prodigy driver it's basically a step down but on he went...
