Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0

Qualifying:

Jove drives into the back of Popabawa's Mustang.

In qualifying, as in the race, care has to be taken when cars of differing classes are in close proximity to each other. Jove's lap would have been compromised by having to slow, but the avoidable collision compromised the lap of both drivers.

Qualifying has been lengthened by 10 mins to stop the mad rush to get laps in, and to stop this kind of incident from occuring.

Penalty assessed with no loss of position as incident occurred in qualifying.

Qualifying:

Raimo takes the racing line as he is entitled (and expected in qualifying) to do. Jove had committed to a pass in a gap that he should have expected to disappear. After the contact Jove spins unexpectedly, leaving Raimo to take evasive action and subsequently he loses control.

Again, it's a question of one compromised lap versus two, and as Raimo was ahead, the racing line was his.

Penalty assessed with no loss of position as incident occurred in qualifying.

Server replay time: 2380s

In lapping Adam, Richard seems caught in two minds regarding what to do. Approaching T2 Richard gets alongside but then drops back. Assuming he'd been given the corner Adam turns in as normal, but as Richad then gets back on the throttle the room runs out and there is side to side contact.

As there was no overlap at turn in, Richard should have stayed behind through the corner and then passed under power on the following straight.

Welcome Rich!

As long as you're safe and consistent you're more than welcome here.

We'll run a practice server on Saturday 6-10pm, if you can make it it'll give you a good idea of the car/track and the interplay between the DP and the Mustang.

Cool i ran in a Grand-AM series event on Monday at Leguna Seca ended up 4 laps off the leader (christ that sounds bad) was my first outing in the Riley DP but i didnt give the leaders any trouble and managed to keep out the way (now i know how the mustangs feel)  Grin

Ended up 13th out of 20 inc 2 mustangs so not to bad. Like i said iv turned a fair amount of miles in the skippy and spec racer and only just decided to take the plunge with the big boys iv been fairly competitive in those cars so hopefully with some practice i will be in the Riley to.

Yeah i can make Saturday

Yeah welcome aboard Rich - you've found a good home for some decent racing, these events were blinding last season. Look forward to catching you on track.

@Jimbo - I'll be practicing Saturday no doubt so I'm happy to help with sharing setups if it means we can resume our battles Smiley. I find a combination of begging, stealing and borrowing is a good start. I've also been using that iRacing setup comparison tool thingy to get a feel for what's different between the setups I'm nicking to develop some kind of understanding!

If you're like me and find it difficult to compare them just by looking at one screen and then loading another, this is a simple but handy way of seeing them side by side....

http://iracing.flybell.com

@Gizmoto - outrageous behaviour! Smiley I thought you were a dead cert mate! Do what you can but it'd be a shame not to have you on the grid again!

@Robin - join us in the DP then, going to be a baptism of fire for quite a few of us trust me!

I'm afraid you're wrong Robin Wink.

Sorry to hear you're not sure about this season .... stick with it though .... 8 races and then it's ALL CHANGE in season 7*.  It's be really good to see you back again in the Stang, Watkins sticks in my mind as we had a great fight after the start - or the Riley.

* in no way is this binding - future schdedules are the result of long hours of consultation of a magic 8-ball and subject to change.

I did some laps anyway to get back into the swing of the DP, 2:01.0 on race fuel should be fairly close to the front.  My old setup felt rather nasty though, need to start fresh on that I think.

Have you forgot about the Silverstone race already? Smiley
With 3 hounds on your bumper for those laps, I couldn't find anything wrong with your consistency.
And with even more laps under the belt, those pints will flow in  Grin
