Qualifying:

Jove drives into the back of Popabawa's Mustang.

In qualifying, as in the race, care has to be taken when cars of differing classes are in close proximity to each other. Jove's lap would have been compromised by having to slow, but the avoidable collision compromised the lap of both drivers.

Qualifying has been lengthened by 10 mins to stop the mad rush to get laps in, and to stop this kind of incident from occuring.

Penalty assessed with no loss of position as incident occurred in qualifying.

Qualifying:

Raimo takes the racing line as he is entitled (and expected in qualifying) to do. Jove had committed to a pass in a gap that he should have expected to disappear. After the contact Jove spins unexpectedly, leaving Raimo to take evasive action and subsequently he loses control.

Again, it's a question of one compromised lap versus two, and as Raimo was ahead, the racing line was his.

Penalty assessed with no loss of position as incident occurred in qualifying.

In lapping Adam, Richard seems caught in two minds regarding what to do. Approaching T2 Richard gets alongside but then drops back. Assuming he'd been given the corner Adam turns in as normal, but as Richad then gets back on the throttle the room runs out and there is side to side contact.

As there was no overlap at turn in, Richard should have stayed behind through the corner and then passed under power on the following straight.

Registrations are a bit thin on the ground, but hopefully we'll see a good turnout for this one.  Looking forward to the start of a new season, and stopping those damn Sharks nicking the team silverware Smiley.

Not sure if I'm going to race this series yet....I just don't have the time to do these cars any justice while driving other sims. :'(

There's an easy solution to that Lazlow Wink.

As long as you don't do an injustice to any other drivers you're more than welcome to join in the fun as and when Smiley.

Looks good Adam!  thumbup2

Ya crazy foo  Afro

I struggle at the moment only doing two races a week I must admit but as it's a Sunday I can normally wangle a couple of hours on Fri/ Sat at some point or failing that the Sunday avo. Going to be a steep learning curve moving from the Vette to the Riley but I'm game for the challenge, all helps makes the skill set a bit more rounded...well so goes the theory  Grin

I just get frustrated with the amount of time I need to set the car up so that it is 1. Safe/Easy to drive and 2. On the pace. Running around at the back with a bad handling car just isn't enjoyable for me....especially for 1.5hrs.
If I get a free Sunday though, I will definitely join you all for a race.

Drive the Stang - that doens't require a lot of setup changes .... or maybe I'm wrong, it does, and that's why I struggle Cheesy.

Been doing some Riley testing yesterday, and I'm down in the 2.01's at the moment, with a very safe setup. My goal is to tweak one second more out of it, without sacrificing its easy handling.
Might do some more testing tonight - am a bit tired at the moment though, so as soon as I'm happy with the setup, I will share it.

Its not handling anything like you see the aliens and other quick Riley drivers drive it. Its more on rails, and not sliding so much. That's the impression I get from watching real footage of the car, so that's what I'm aiming at Smiley. Didn't like the car too much to begin with, but its defenetly growing on me now, that it handles more like I want it to.

And yes, turnout is a bit scary at the moment. Come on guys, join the fun Smiley. It isnt even spring yet (atleast not over here) Cheesy.

Perhaps we should have a test session, maybe tonight? Give us all a chance to feel the cars etc, before the race on sunday.
If you think that is a good idea, let me know, and I will kick a server online from 19.00 GMT.

Welcome Rich!

As long as you're safe and consistent you're more than welcome here.

We'll run a practice server on Saturday 6-10pm, if you can make it it'll give you a good idea of the car/track and the interplay between the DP and the Mustang.
