I'll put you down as a Ferrari and post your time next to it. Are you Gerhard or Michele? Nah, let's see the laptimes in other cars with other drivers and then decide.

What nights will you be doing your server H@l? might try and join you.
I will leave it running tonight 7 - 11, I may not be on line my self this evening (not totally sure yet) but, I will leave the server going anyway. I plan to have the server running tomorrow (Wednesday) and Friday. Thursday is the only day that I will not be able to leave it running.

I have put my server up now 'H@Ltest'. The mod may not be on the main SROuk server until Sunday night after the Brands race. I have put the damage down to 90%. When me and GT did the damage test last night it was at 100%. I found that we had a few small bumps at low speeds and I had no damage at all, then we had a slightly bigger bump at high speed and i got 40 seconds aero and 90 seconds suspention. In a GT1/2 car that would have been 5 or 6 seconds aero and that's all. I think we should use a setting that will not cause race ending damage from small bumps only, so I think 80 or maybe 70% should be fine. Lets just see how it is on 90% first.

Trying out more cars only led to confusion and within it one certain fact: whichever car I take I'm gonna spin in the first two laps.

The mod is on the SROuk server and I will leave it running the F1 88 cars for tonight.
Report any issues such as CTDs etc., please.

just had my first go on the 88 f1 mod, i tried the benetton ford as i was a big fan of this car at the time (3rd year at upper school i think!), probably end up at the rear of the field as i dont think i will be able to manage more than a couple of hours practice, any one got any setup tips?

I'll probably take a Benetton too so we can be teamies I'm managing around 1:36/1:37 but I've put in loads of practise. Here's my WIP setup if you'd like to try it. Use the downforce to carry as much speed as you dare into those long corners and gather it up as you begin to slide on the apex. Very rewarding when you get it right, pretty spectacular when it goes wrong Server should be back up after tonight's GT2 race. You wanna be Boutsen or Nannini? http://www.humyo.com/FHWPvLQ/tudor%20Benetton%20Brno.svm?a=mT776K7sXB4Edit: Feel free to try something a bit quicker if you don't have too much pracci time though SRW, the hope is that we have a very balanced grid.

Feel free to choose a car you're comfortable in Alex. The Ligier is very nice here as is the Ferrari or the March. The McLaren is very quick but slightly more demanding to drive imo. The only car in the top 8 that I found more difficult than others was the Arrows, but it too can be very quick with practice.
Thanks. I will sign up for the Gugelmin March if that is ok. Struggling to get within 110% (glad we don't have the 107% rule in effect here). Biggest issue is still the uncontrollable bumping in corners, especially T2 (fast corner after second straight) and the slow bit. Have lowered the values for the shocks but to no avail. Should I also loosen the fast bump and/or roll bar? Any help is appreciated. ps. Those Zakspeeds are really slow on the straights!

Cheers Alex. I've updated post #2 and put myself down in Nannini's Benetton while I was at it. As for those bumps, try softening the spring front and rear. I also find that braking earlier and lighter to get the car settled before turning in helps a lot. I think the bumping is caused by the front wheels rapidly losing/gaining grip instead of running through the approach to corners. The standard tracks are worse for bumps than those I have in mind for a season, if we get that far. I only chose Brno for the purposes of testing the mod. If you have the time, try one of the dedicated 88 season tracks like Spa88 or Jerez88 as they don't suffer from this problem.
