Race:        20:50 BST 25 Laps
I thought we were going to try a slightly longer race? Huh

25 laps at an average 1:38 pace (yawn) means a race of about 40mins 30secs again.

For a 45 min race, it should be set to 28 laps.
For a 50 min race, it should be set to 30 laps.

Hope that helps Smiley

Erm....don't quite know how I did that Huh  Probably me thinking average F1 race 1hr 40mins x 50% = 50 mins. Anyway thanks for pointing it out, probably a bit late to change now but I think most would benefit from a pitstop to change tyres anyway.

I'll get it right next week Embarrassed

Hopefully I'll be able to drop in the 37's come race day.

That Coloni's a bit of a dog mate, but seeing the pace you were getting from it I reckon you'll have others to race with. Thanks and let's see how it goes.

Some setups for Suzuka in various stages of development.....
http://www.humyo.com/FHWPvLQ/F1%2088%20setups/?a=_gF-HMTfc18

Thanks for the setups GT Grin I was getting lost on setup with these cars. Was having a hell of a time with snap oversteer while trail braking with anything I tried. Your Lotus set works very well entering the corner and even puts the power down better exiting Grin.

RL race length here was 51 laps, so I'm going for 50% RL at 25 laps....race announcement amended.

I'd imagine thats where you got it from GT.

Worked out my setups issue. It was seeing the setups folder from my 'normal' ukgtr install, and i suspect the plr file as ffb settings in game was as i had it on sunday night for the superGT's, even though i started it from a different folder. Thought i'd change my name in game to help distinguish between each.

I have to say these are just a bit too quick for me, the speed through first section is mind blowing. last night i lifted slightly out of the hairpin to let Legzy through and didnt react quick enough! Driving close to people is going to be especially difficult in these.

Cheers H@L. You're in the Johannsen car again.

They do take a bit of getting used to, but after a while it becomes almost slow motion.

Particular care is needed when following close behind...I was almost caught out a couple of times behind Legzy at Brno. It's a good idea to be patient and wait for opportunities, because anything more than slight contact with the person in front is likely to cause the loss of a front wing and ruin one's own race.

You lifted when I was two yards back, directly behind & in a flat out acceleration place, I not sure what else you were expecting! Undecided lol

Driving close is going to require people to engage in the use of some common sense Wink, a level of trust in your rival & some courteous driving... All things this league is happy to pride itself on Smiley

Standing starts isn't a great idea for this. Realism is good but spinning out cause the gent in front is slow away or visa versa will get very boring, very quickly for me. In fact, one time is enough Smiley

Gotta say the mod is very good after more use.

crashed, smashed the front wheel off, but managed to get back to the pits (thinking it could be repaired so i could get out for some mileage under my belt), the pit crew put four new tyres on but when i was dropped off the jacks the broken one was missing again  Sad

Is there a race this sunday?

Car handling and sounds are good, the mod....not quite so.

PC decided to jump to desktop, and when I came back to the game my car was (lets say) a little bashed up Cheesy
Span my way back to the pits to get repaired, and after 2 mins of waiting I went to start the engine and it didn't fire up. Had to then exit the game.

I decided to test the Minardi offline to see if I had the same engine start problems, and surely enough I did.
I then tested the Williams I drove last week for comparison, and had no problems starting the engine.

Just another issue that seems to crop up every time I play this mod.
Is this mod fairly new? because at the moment I feel like I'm beta testing instead of actually racing Sad

Also I believe Matt Rowe and Navin were having ctd when they entered the pits??

Aiming for another podium tonight, despite starting from the back due to children duties during qually.

Lap 1, went into T10(?) (left hand hairpin after 1st time check-point) patiently lining up behind SRW... Spanner clouted me up the rear from 100 yards back, taking me off & braking the back of my car, think he put a wheel on the grass.

Tried to get round to the pits, to try to salvage anything out of what was a fantastic combo GT Cool), but went off once thinking I'd be OK on an almost straight changing upto 4th Roll Eyes & then went off that the kink before the pits. I turned & the rear just flew round with the zero grip back there. Smashed into a wall at 130+.... Angry

Race over at my favourite circuit on lap 1. Sad

Gutted.

I'd like to add, the way I was hit had nothing to do with any difficulty with close driving (Spanner was miles back) or any issue with the mod. My race would have been pretty much ended in what ever sim, after an impact like that.
