Suzuka is one of the tracks from the RL '88 season. I found this track very challenging in testing these cars, but also much less problematic as far as bumpiness.....it's a much smoother ride here.
We'll run the practice server again after Sunday's SGT race. Car choices are open and we are again aiming for a nice balanced grid. I again request that you reserve them here so we have no duplication of drivers on track.

You mean to say you want my Benetton Didn't bring me a lot of luck at Brno, so yes ok I'll put you down for it. Incidently it was 1989 that Senna punted Prost into the gravel tried to pull a slightly ambitious move on Prost into T1. In the 1988 race he spent the last few laps pointing at the sky as there were a few spots of rain and he wanted the race stopped...while he was in front of course and needed the win to take the championship Bagsy the Proton Lotus again please. If you want me try something different shout now as my pracci time will be limited.
Lotus is fine Ian, but try to post a race setup lap time if you get the chance as this will be a good marker for us. First post updated. I'm going for the Boutsen Benetton as I've done all my track testing for a possible season so far with this and have rough setups in place. I might try the Ligier though to see if it's as strong as I thought at Brno or if it was just a fluke.

Couldn't resist a quick blast. Suzuka is brilliant in these cars. I think Degner (?) can be taken flat but so scarey Race fuel and tyres (hard/hard) was mid 39's but room for 1 or 2 seconds improvement I think. Got to be a POWER track?

Done a few laps, and I can just get high 39s with the Ferrari with race fuel and less wing than I was running at Brno So my default would be to be Mr Berger again.

Depends how much practice you're going to do between now and Tuesday I found the lap times very similar to those at Brno from my testing. After lots of laps I'm at mid 38s in the Benetton and I reckon that's about my limit. However after half a dozen laps in the fezza I was doing mid 35s. I've put you down for the fezza but let us know how you get on. I've had a run in the Arrows and the tyre wear looks quite heavy, but again it is very quick here. It does look as if it will be ok for a one stopper though as will all cars. RL race length here was 51 laps, so I'm going for 50% RL at 25 laps....race announcement amended.

It's a free choice again TT, but I'm still aiming to have an even grid to give us some nice close racing. I know you weren't keen on the Arrows last time because of the tyre wear, but hopefully I've negated that with the slightly longer race length. I believe most cars will be better to pit for tyres and those which try to go race length will have to look after their tyres more. For instance my Benetton is borderline for a no stop with expected tyre wear of 25 to 30 by the end of the race, but then again it is a couple of seconds a lap slower than some cars. Hopefully these test races will give us an idea of the relative race strengths of the cars so that we can all choose accordingly.

Got to 39s in Arrows and I think it's the limit of the car / me combo. Tyres wear was more than 1,5 per lap - hards, no fuel. Very high, though I reduced front wing to 40 and rear to 45 and I don't dare go any lower, it was kicking all over already. Might try some others.

Did you use 'Hards' in the last race TT? You were just about the quickest man in whatever strategy you were using, if you did the same again here, surely you'd be quicker than GT again, not slower & the new race length would no longer 'hurt' the arrows? You'd be the man to know any way.
