Amazing lap time Ade!  Smiley
Connection lasted qualification and 7 laps. Pity. I'd love to have whole race with those thoroughgoing guys which begin race from quli and doing race as diehard WTCCers. devil

good challenging race that, you couldnt relax your concentration for a moment or it was off time...as i found out twice  Embarrassed though to be fair one of them was listening to legzy on TS and missing my braking point completely. Roll Eyes

Had some good early fights and a good race long battle with Matt, who eventually got by me after that off. I chased after him hard, but he appeared to up his pace some more and i couldnt make any in-roads. Then with about 7 laps remaining he had some kind of incident ahead, re-caught him then he retired...damage? Fulvio kept a steady watching brief behind  me for many laps but i eventually pulled a gap.

Then i became aware of a fair old ding dong going on ahead with Geoffers and Clive and i soon took 10 secs off their lead. Then on the last lap they were both rejoining from the grass just ahead of me and i whipped by Geoffers onto clives tail, but he sped off up the s/f straight.

Was very pleased with 6th  Smiley

Results and Replay In The Tundra
My apologies Marco, I forgot to post the password for the race, it seems you figured it was the usual one  Cool
Was having fun towards the rear, but, despite reminding people about fuel...... I put in enough and some
more for 20 laps....... lap 2 I looked at laps count 30!!!!! arghhh, tried to go in pits with 1 lap of fuel
remaining and missed the entrance, went round in high gears and ran out just at the pit entrance
Ah well, fun while it lasted.

Sorry Miguel, it was me the "latebraker" of the second lap, but I've totally lost my braking point (the white wall on the left  Grin)... it was totally my fault. I have to be more safe during the first laps with cold tyres and brakes Sad

However it was a funny race. Good fight with Paulo and Geoffers, but I have some contacts even with their car, even if I don't think to have been unfair in those cases. I guess they didn't leave me enough room, even if I was already side by side on the inside line, so the contacts were both unavoidable judging "live" both the episodes by the cockpit. Obviously that was my first impression. I will check the replay, and in the case I was wrong, I will have no trouble to apologize.

However the next time I have to be more quiet... I risked too much in this race.

Grats to ade for the victory, and Marco for the second place Smiley
See you for the next. Bye bye Smiley

My posting was inspired not by you. Wink

Don't worry Matteo! I have done there exactly same thing once. Lack of landmarks and low grip (out of racing line) provokes such mistakes. Smiley

Smiley Must start doing some P&G races with you guys. As Ade will tell you I'm pretty hopeless with P&G and need some practice particularly on the dreaded pit stops.  Roll Eyes

Good car/track combo, really enjoyed the 906/8 for once.

Race went quite well at the start & I got up to 2nd due to a few people going off. Had PR pressuring me for a few laps until Marco got past him & then passed me on the straight with ease (why are my P&G cars so slow on the straights?). Manteos then got ahead of PR & caught up only to spin me out at T1. Thought I was clear of you Manteos when I tightened my line, but obviously not! Roll Eyes  This allowed PR & Clive to get past me too.

Chased Clive down & got ahead when he ran wide at T3 & set about catching PR. Unfortunately ran a bit wide at the final turn a couple of laps later & Clive regained the place. Then had a great battle with Clive for the rest of the race. However I got a bit overeager a couple of times & bumped Clive off, very sorry about that Clive Embarrassed. The second time, on the final lap, allowed MJ to nip past while I waited for Clive to rejoin  Roll Eyes

All in all a fun race.

Congrats to the podium  clap clap clap

Manual gears can make a big difference to how quick it will get up to speed on the straights
I am constantly being mugged by manual gear types, partly because of the faster and
more violent change up they get, and partly 'cos they get a better run onto the straight
I try it occasionally but can't do it everywhere in all cars. I ran manual at Rouen in the Jag
and made up 3 or 4 places by the 1st corner!

No problem Geoffers.

I was feeling quite guilty about being in your way but I was pedalling as fast as I could.

I hadn't done any practice and had only just downloaded the track on Thursday evening.

I did some off-line practice with a Le Mans setup and then joined Ade on the server.  Watching him do a lap gave me a rough idea of where 4th and 5th should be and I just plodded on from there.

5th was a good result in the circumstances.

Must just say that I was most impressed with Geoffers' first passing move.  Guess I had made a big enough error to give him a gap.  I had just gone a tad wide on the entry to T3 and the next thing I knew was he appeared alongside.  My other errors either didn't happen or were less than Geoffers expected.  Roll Eyes

Unofficial LapChart

Only Gentleman Driver on the grid.. what can I say?

Fulvio and Legzy kept me company for first part.. shame Legzy quit, liked out little dragraces.
Mind started to wander off and ran out of asphalt several times  Sad

I think Ade has officially attained 'Pro' status; guess he has to go on an Italian course right now  Wink

I have checked the replay, and I have to admit that the touch with Geoffers was absolutely my fault  Undecided Undecided.

He had the line right cause he was in front, and he didn't tight his line, but it was my bad if we had a contact. So I apologize with you, It was a wrong move not to wait you during the race Sad. I was doubtful if I had to wait, and I waited a bit to see if you recovered your car... Than I decided to go on... Bad decision mate... I apologize again ;(

I was using manual gears/clutch on the straight but turning them off again for the twisty bits. Like you Matt I can drive some cars manual but others I use auto-clutch. I can only guess it is to do with my toe settings which scrub off speed. Also could have been different gear ratios as PR wasn't able to pass me on the straight.

No worries about the bump Manteos, although I must admit I was a bit unhappy at the time!
