Moderator's Report

Round 2 of the Professional championship unfortunatly brought with it the first Lap 1 incidents of the season - 2 of them no-less in order to make up for Monaco!

Despite being nerfed into the haybales on Lap 1 Hristo managed to fight back up to the front of the grid and managed a very convincing win, followed in by a fantastic performance by Clutch with Evil rounding out the top 3

Server replay time: 0h01m33s

Having made a poor start Raoni is making good use of his Waza Turbine and attempting to reclaim lost ground. Approaching the Hairpin he pulls right in order to pass Clive under braking.
He does this successfully but fails to take into account that Clive is closly following Hristo - who is taking his normal line into the hairpin as he is entitled.
This results in Raoni making heavy contact with Hristo's right rear wheel and firing him into the haybales.

When planning an overtaking maneuver it is imperative that you make sure you can do so cleanly, this includes checking that you have space infront of the car you are passing to slow into without endangering another driver.

I have chosen to run with a 'Very Ambitious Overtake' as it is the penalty most fitting to the incident:
The overtaking driver had not achieved any degree of overlap at turn-in. The overtaking driver WOULD have made the corner. Penalty for overtaking driver.

This scenario attracts a 2 place penalty, plus of course the additional 1 point first lap incident penalty

Server replay time: 0h01m35s

Several cars further back up the field Jethro is following Ronnie at quite a distance.
Jethro fails to slow in time for the hairpin (some 50 meters later than most other cars) and realises too late he is going to hit Ronnies car.
He attempts to swerve off the track to the left but clips ronnie as he passes - causing both cars to loose control.

While it is clear that this was an unintentional incident I have no real choice other than to award a 'Blatant Rear End Shunt' to Jethro given the circumstances of the accident:
The victim made no mistakes and was driving their normal line at normal speed. The shunter made no allowance for the victim whatsoever. The shunter was in full control.

This gives a 2 place penalty plus a further place for a lap 1 incident

UKGPL Season 21 65 Professionals Trophy
Race 2 Snetterton Heath

Welcome to round 2, we now find ourselves back in Blighty at the fabulous GPLEA redition of Snetterton 67, a very fast circuit but with enough technical sections to keep us all on our toes  Grin

Race List = IGOR
Server = UKGPL_T7_2
IP address = 62.149.202.168
Race date = 17/05/2011
Time = 21:00 UK time
Track = Snetterton Heath Circuit  1967
Variant = 65F1
Damage Model = Pro
Qualifying time = 35 minutes
Race length = 50 minutes ( 38 laps)
Password: see above

65 Patch: The 2.02 Release of the 65mod can and should be used and can be found here (currently down - also available here )

Driver lists can be found on the Pro championship standings page
The track can be downloaded from : here
Add-on’s available at : SRMZ

Please be in IGOR UKGPL chatroom by 8:50 pm UK Time

Reserve drivers should not join the server(s) until there are only 30 minutes of qualifying left. Please restrict chat to pit messages. Moderating will be by reported incidents only, however the moderators reserve the right to review any incident with a particular emphasis on lap one. The aim is to review the race the following weekend so incident reports should be submitted within five days of the race (ie the following Friday). We're hopeful most incidents can be resolved amicably and recommend a days deep breath with a replay review before posting. A sorry in the forum won't be taken as an automatic admission of guilt by the moderators.
The race will be run on PRO Damage.

NOTE: Please ensure you join the correct server, due to the way we import if you start the race on the wrong server your result will not count.

Reserve drivers should not join the server until there are only 30 minutes of qualifying left so as to give the FULL TIME drivers chance to join, and drivers are not to go out on track until there are 30 minutes of qualifying left as this helps all drivers join the server successfully.

Please restrict chat to pit messages if necessary, and this includes the end of the race, until all running drivers have completed the necessary laps.

Replacement link sorted, it's worth noting for budding quizers that there is a theme again in this seasons passwords.

There will be a grand-no-prize to the first to guess it (No cheating with google this time H!)

Bernie you can check if you have a different program cover for 1965 than you have for 1967 at 1965 championship tracks like Monaco or Mexico. As part of the patch you have the possibility of mod-specific program covers, track graphics, and newspaper photo, as well as enlargement of the maximum of tracks GPL can handle, both in your season file as well as in your replay list.

As a result, if you have the mod team Zandvoort and Mexico track updates installed, you will get different track graphics depending on the mod you are driving the track with.

Tommie.

Screen freeze after a couple of laps  Sad
I drove at Snett67 a lot of times without any problem, indeed at any track, but recently screen freeze are too frequent.
The hardware has been the same for years, I suspect about RasterD3D_V2 since I had to install it to support the new 23" LCD at 1980x1020 in September. Before I had been running 1280x1024 on a 19" CRT.
Ciao

Results up (Cheers Tim)

I suspect I'm going to have some work this time - there's an L1 incident and the history graph suggests contact at various points later in the race.....
To give you all advance warning, I'll be at the Nurburgring from next weds through to the following monday so moderation may take a while  Smiley

Uploading the server replay now so it'll be available in 20 mins or so
