Moderator's Report

No reported incidents for this race. It looks like everyone ( or almost everyone ......see below) is behaving themselves.

A couple of incidents at the start were brought to my attention by the start line monitor ( Whitfield P. Snr, not to be confused with Whitfield J. Jnr).
There was some pillock in a Mirage that made an absolutely stunning start, enabling him to make a sizeable dent in the back of Sambs Chap 2F tank and an even larger modification to the lightweight aluminium body of his Mirage!! Just a shame that it was the beginning of the rolling lap!!??
Sky made a sneaky move from the staggered grid on the rolling lap and cunningly eased his GT40 in front of our Antipodean visitor Geoff Heard. If he had allowed Geoff to re-take his correct place on the rolling lap that would have been OK...but he didn't! As Sky managed to end his race prematurely there is no penalty that can be applied that will make any difference....but we are watching!!!!

Hristo tried an alternative line through Woodcote as the lead car at the end of the warm up lap and gets the award for the only driver to have crashed his car before the race started!!
Later in the race, after matching the number of wheels on his 2F to the number of sprockets in his gearbox, Hristo performed what can only be described as a very marginal 10 second pitstop. I have reviewed it several times and tried to decide if he was actually staionary for the full 10 seconds. I am sure that it was more than 9, but was it a full 10??!!. In this instance I am going to call it a warp ( time warp?) affected stop. But WE are watching and counting..

Axel,  no worries,  just a racing incident.  I couldn't decide which way to try and ended up going smack into the middle of you.

The race was great fun for the preceding laps with 5 or 6 of us at close quarters with some good clean but tight racing going on.

The Mk1 was a lovely car to drive; I found her a bit down on acceleration but with trying to hold as much corner speed as possible and good handling we managed to stay in touch, just about.

it was expected starting order of first 3 drivers of us, Hristo on pole and me 2nd , i did know Tim are very fast with GT's too so guess his pace was good in race. Not a perfect laptime in quali, but i did below 1.30 and thats enough for now, couldnt do any faster setup.

didnt expect any offs by very experienced driver Hristo on warmup lap but i anyway see it,tough luck ? .
I was attituded to follow close behind Hristo with aid of slipstream all race but no this time .  laugh

Tim was following all race very close but i didnt have serious troubles to keep my car on road this very well known circuit. Some troubles with backmarkers too now and then, setup was stable for race but was quite bad on slow turns .After watching race replay seems Tim drift all corners he do, i couldnt do that on any corners ,  maybe setup or driver depending issue?  Cheesy  Anyway happy to win first ever GT event !

hope to win next event too but maybe harder to do it with other cars.
