Moderator's Report

A popular circuit and a great venue for our Porsches, despite a couple of incidents at T1 where people jostled for the inside unsure of what would have been in their mirrors if they had any.

Despite this being a team event, the Clark-Hill boys had so much faith in Geoff that they used him as their sole entrant. Bloody idiots!

The unofficial oversteer championship is still being won by Evil Clive who is now able to use this technique in almost every corner. Well done Clive!

Server replay time: 0

T1 saw a couple of drivers moving over to the inside when they could not be sure that no other car was there.

In this mod with it's poor rearward visibility it is particularly important to be prepared to stick to your own side of the grid from the start until the field have spread a little, usually after T1.

Ronnie was guilty of it as he squeezed Pedro and Cookie was also guilty of it as he chopped across the front of Arf Arf Arf.

To avoid being involved in the argy bargy, Bob started from the pit lane.

Server replay time: 0h01m10s

Cookie follows Goran through Druids and the two make contact as Cookie aims for a small gap on the inside. Goran goes off track and loses a couple of places as he recovers.

Goran had to lift slightly to avoid rear ending Pedro and Cookie looked to seize on the opportunity to pass him but had no overlap going into the corner and no gap wide enough for his car. Considering this was Lap 1 in a Pro level race it was a very risky move with little chance of success.

The initial contact between the cars is a warp contact but as Goran's car gets sideways there is real contact between the two of them and Goran is lucky that the reaction of his car was not more severe.

Though we don't punish warp incidents in all cases, there are certain instances where a warp incident could be expected and drivers should drive in a way that does not invite a warp incident. Lap 1 T2 with no real gap would count as one of those instances and Cookie should have lifted and followed Goran through Druids.

The m oderator has waived the extra Lap 1 Incident penalty place as the initial contact was warp, though it may have become real at some point.

Moderator's Report

Two Drivers, two corners, two incidents, two different outcomes.

Server replay time: 0h08m53s

Clouds and Natan collide in the final turn.

Clouds has no overlap at turn in, but Natan is unstable and runs wide before regaining control and heading back to the racing line where Clouds is now moving past him.

This was a legitimate overtake attempt by Clouds and following his wobble Natan should have been aware that Clouds was moving alongside as he was visible in the lead up to the incident.

Server replay time: 0h12m56s

Natan is slow on the approach to South Bank and lets a car pass but he recovers his racing speed and line and enters South Bank with Clouds behind him.

Clouds makes a passing attempt on the inside but he hits Natan as Natan heads towards the apex.

Clouds left his passing attempt far too late and has no overlap at turn in which means Natan has every right to take the racing line and was always going to do so.

I kind of agree with Hristo here - UKGPL is as much about its people as it is the game! Yes its a great game but its the active forums and great after-race chat that makes it so special... I view this as a hobby, with a good social aspect and a healthy dose of competition and I balance my love of UKGPL with the other love of my life. My fiancee and my children always come first for me, but 9pm-11pm 3 times a week I lose myself in my hobby and I bloody love it!

It would seem strange to me Paul if you were not on track at the events we contest together. So I hope you can reach a suitable comprimise. On the subject of not being at the sharp end we have talked before. As long as people are having fun who cares. See you at Silverstone in the 66's on Tuesday, I hope.

I see you didn't say 'where we race' lol.

Hope to be there too. Touch and go though.

Sorry Göran that was me! oops
It was warp contact! In replay you can see I didn't touch you.

No incident reports for this race which is good if you can settle it like gentlemen it makes my life easier, but as this was a lap 1 incident it will be moderated anyway, and if the server shows contact then you could end up with a penalty.

I would recommend you submit a clip from your replay with an incident report.

I have 2 or 3 clips to send you, just to know how I must behave next time.

I will never ever again take Jason Plato as a guide for my driving!

Hope the mod makes it clear Sergio?

Funny how things work out. I profit from Sergio's demotion and get 17 points even though I didn't actually manage to make the first corner at Brands. Compare that to the last race at Silverstone, where I was pleased with my performanec and drove my nuts off to score.... 17 points Cheesy

Yes all clear m8, very ambitious overtake it explains all by itself! I'll try to do the right things next time, thank you!  Wink
