Ok, after a few laps in the Jag Roadster I've managed a 1.40:8. At first I thought the Coupe was faster but the Roadster with a few tweaks seems to be not only faster but also easier to drive than the Coupe.

Low 42's is as good as I can get in either, low 43's in Falcon. With race fuel mind, I still think I may get lapped
Just because I thik it makes a great track for a race, doesn't mean I am good at it...  Cheesy

Can't get anywhere near the 43s with any of these cars so far. Looks like a lonely race for me  Sad

p.s how was the download speed? My hoster (is that a word?) seems to have changed some things - limited file size
limited upload/download time)

I get an average off 965 kb/SEC, when I use your link Matt. ( I have a 20Mb both ways conn. )

Thanks Stig, not brilliant, but probably better than some of the free downloaders.
Setups are updated for any that want them. My Coupe was too loose. ooh err missus.

Sorry,

Not the track-car combo for me.
Better luck next time.

Yeah, not a track I'd rush to do again. However it would be interesting in smaller cars?

I just wanted to finish.

Didn't get much practice in & so started comfortably at the back. Quite pleased I managed to get my laptimes down quite a bit, think it was a low 42 in the end.
Enjoyed lots of good close clean racing with Alex & Henry, pretty much from start to finish.

Great fun, quite a technical track so made a change to have something big to play with  Smiley

Early appologies to Miguel - we exchanged paint in the first lap on several corners, hope it was as clean at your end as it appeared to be on mine  Smiley

Had great fun chasing John and Ade, for the first 10 laps or so all 3 cars were managing very similar laptimes - with each car having a 'strong' section.
Then Ade ran wide letting me hop into 2nd, where I looked semi-safe until I out braked myself into T1 and put a wheel in the dirt half spinning myself.

From the re-join I spend a while trying hard to catch Ade, but eventually just gave up and went drifting instead  ninja

Moment of the race for me has to be diving onto the grass on the infield of T1 to avoid John's increadible early braking just moments after his 'I'll probably spin off in T1' comment  Grin
Amazed (And glad) that carnage didn't ensue...

Results and Replay posted in Mordor

Messy lap 1, recovered from a kamikaze Jag attack, and then lost it myself up an inside kerb, then set off to
catch people, managed to pass a bit, then came up behind Geoffers, who I then sat behind more or less
up to the end, I could catch, then he would get away, eventually we caught Manteos on tyres that seemed
even more worn than mine, Geoffers and Matteo had a ding dong battle up to the last couple of laps
allowing me to close up some, then Matteo fell off and I nipped through to grab a place.

We tried lots of different cars here, and small cars worked, but we had somewhere we felt better
for the ankle biters, and to me the Jag was made for this place.
Great racing, thanks to all that turned up and had a go.

Tried all ways of driving these cars tonight....smooth, ragged, flambouyant, relaxed, accurate and couldn't find any consistency or speed. Every corner was a surprise  Roll Eyes  Bailed out after a few laps and a few spins as I was blocking the road.

Yeh, it seemed that lap after lap the gap between us was about 1s. I could open it up in the first & last sections but I was losing time in the middle twisty section. I had made one or two setup changes in practice but I think I made the car worse as after a few laps I had lots of understeer in the slow corners.

Was a good race though, despite being taken out at the hairpin on lap 1 by a wayward E-Type (Syd I think) that dropped me to the tail of the field. Had good fun working back up the order with Matt in tow. Eventually caught up with Manteos' Falcon & had great fun trying to find a way past. Manteos' tyres were clearly past their best & he went off at T1 with 2 laps left, leaving me to just hold off Matt on the last lap.

Congrats to John, Ade & Mr Muttram  clap clap clap

Sorry I couldn't join you last night but I seem to have caught this work bug from Mike! Sad

Shame as the E-Type is one of my favourite cars.  Don't know about the track as I've not seen it but couldn't our "fun" races be confined to places that we already know?

Congrats to John and Stig on their good Soggy results.
