After the atlantic series race I've done 10 laps in the UkP&G server with the Cobra and the setup you suggested me Stig Wink

At the moment, in race trim I wasn't able to do nothing under 2.14. but with some mistakes during the lap. I can surely do something better, but nothing near a 2.10... scary lap Shocked Shocked

Hmmh - I fear that I won't be competitive here once more.
But it seems to be fun to drive this track.

2.22 in the Cobra, 2.25 in the GT40 and no time in the Corvette cause I killed the engine
on braking turn 12  Smiley

One question: what are your force feedback adjustments?

Slightly reducing the gap after another 20 laps spent to do some setup improvement... however nothing near a 2.10 yet with race fuel... I hope you were talking about empty tanks or offline laps Stig...
At the opposite... I'm done  Grin

About the force feedback, I turned it off completely on my G25 a while back. I found that I was faster after that and also get less tired in long races (that part seems obvious).

It wasn't me doing 2.10's it was of course Lightning John W   laugh. Unfortunately he might not be able to join the race tonight.

I have only been below 2.14 twice, so you'll probably end up front in the starting grid Manteos.

But who knows, maybe Mike turns up, and he's ALWAYS fast, no matter what car he's in.

Had a couple of laps battling with Tony, but after that I lost interest.

Congrats to John, Matteo & Clive, congrats to John on the championship & to SBRC on the teams title. clap clap clap

Right from the start I was stuck between Clive and Syd, very soon I had a 10 sec ( growing ) gap to both of them. I had absolutely nothing to do but to stay on the track . . . .
So naturally I just HAD to do a couple of 360's to make the race more interesting. Syd and Matt passed me, and I had fun chasing Matt and passing him. I Almost catched up with Syd, and then blew it once more.

Congratulations to John for winning this race and the whole season, and to Captain Clive who got himself the silver medal for this season ... well done and much deserved  thumbup1

And of course congrats to SBRC ...... we are the champions guy :jumpjoy:s  Wink

BTW. Are ther any plans for a new race season ?

After I Joined the server I noticed that the SRBC guys had choice the 427 Archway skin, so I gave it a try... love at first sight Smiley

Honestly I didn't think I could have been able to do such a great lap in qualif... that encouraged me so much for the race.

Unfortunately my race was not up to my expectations, but at least I had some fun with John for the first time in this champ... Today's training surely helped me a bit Wink

During the first 2 laps me and John were really close, and we passed each other at least twice times, but at the first corner of the 3rd lap my "dreams of glory" were miserably off, and I have only to blame my idiocy... my car spun and I lost the contact with John definitively. I'm angry about this, cause I'm sure it would have been a cracking duel til the end. I was on a really good pace and I'll never forgive myself for that mistake. Stupid Manteos!

After the spin I focused my race to replace the gap to Clive, and after 2 or 3 laps I passed him, following to push as a devil to try a desperate comeback on John... obviously there was no chances to be succesful without an error by John, and in fact John did no mistakes as I expected. Cold comfort was my pace seemed to be even slightly faster than John's, but it was too late... literally in Italy we say that: "The omelette was done..."

At least for the first time in this champ I had the chance to compete for the victory, and this is a good sign, cause it means that I'm not as rusty yet Smiley

Many grats to John for the champ. I know him since the time of GC and he is a really consistent and fast driver. Very well deserved mate Smiley

Grats even to Clive for the second place Smiley You improved a lot your performance with a trainer like John Wink

Grats also to SRBC for the team champ!  thumbup2 thumbup2

I hoped to be helpful for the Oldie's team, but this time there was nothing to do mates... Time to train was really short... I'll try again during the next champ Smiley

Thanx to the organizers for setting up the show  Wink

Still can't figure how the Cobra manages to outrace the GT40  Huh

But I was going to drive the GT40 anyway just because I love the look and sound of that car. Pretty dull race actually once Geoffers had passed me.

Big thanks to Mike and Matt for the time spent creating another P&G series  thumbup2

BTW after the race I tried the same combo/track/no. laps on GTL. The result? GT40 takes the top five slots, then the Cobra, then the Corvette. Sanity returns.

In the hands of the AI in PnG the GT40Mk1 beats the 427 without exception.

Perhaps it's a question of us not knowing how to set the damn things up?

I tried the GT40 when I saw the speed of the AI but I couldn't get close to my Cobra times.

The Cobras have a lot of grunt coming out of the corners.

Perhaps if you ran a GT40 spec race then the great and the good would address themselves to sorting the setup.

As for this season, many congratulations to John and to SBRC.  Good team effort and many thanks for congratulations.

Some good speed from Manteos on Thursday, that's the closest anyone has got to John all season.  Shame you didn't join a decent team who could give you the support needed when sorting out cars at the last minute.  Grin

Loooking forward to the next one.

Good fun with Manteos for the first few laps, some really close racing there  thumbup1 I was going to wait for longer, but Clive came round the corner and I don’t think Team Boss would be happy at my throwing away a potential SBRC win Wink

After Manteos’ spin I was going as fast as possible but he was keeping the pressure up and I was still losing a little ground each lap. Luckily for me, consistency won the day  Grin

Great team result as well, I’ve never really done the team thing before and it’s clear that it helps everyone, myself included, with the swapping of TTs, setups, etc. Thanks guys.

Thanks to Mike & Matt for organising – nice combination of cars & tracks, looking forward to the next season.

Yep, I was at the historic Spa six hours at the weekend and the front of the grid at the main endurance race was full of GT40s, followed by most of the Cobras, then the E-Types, etc. We had a good spot at the last chicane when it got dark and could see the cars accelerating down the straight towards La Source – shocking to see the speed difference between the GT40s vs everything else bar the Cobras.

I did try the GT40 here briefly, but I was so much slower in it than the other two that I didn’t really give it a proper go.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Cobras that race in those classic races are 289 ones, not the 427 we used. However I'm sure IRL the GT40 was quicker than the 427 Cobra because it went around corners much better, something the P&G GT40 does not do, was lighter & more aerodynamic. I can't believe a pure racecar like the GT40 had limited things you could adjust like the one in P&G does, the Mk2 is the same. The few times I have tried it, I just couldn't dial out the chronic understeer that it suffers from with the limited adjustments that it has.
