I too tested the group 2 cars last night (didn't have a go in the mclaren as it wasn't offered then). The Healey drove very nice and was running the same pace as the Ford and BMW Chevrons. The Cosi Chevron is quite a bit quicker, but the handling is spooky at best. I had to make radical setup adjustments just to keep it on the road. It still isn't to my liking, but at least it is predictable now. I'll likely drive it because I'm considerably quicker in that then the others.
If you think the Chevron handles bad you need to try the Mclaren! BTW I've asked Dave to update the link.

I've been out of the race in a long time  Angry ...but can I resevere a 917K?

Nice to have you back Pelle. No need to reserve cars for this series. Just turn up and take what you want. Only restriction is a maximum of 5 races in any group.
Thx  thumbup1...I hope my first training will be done without pain, but unfortunately there are days where I think the doctor has forgotten a screwdriver in the back  Shocked ...& I miss racing against you  Wink

Agree, Chevron Ford is nicest drive - just have to watch engine life & short shift if necessary.

I found playing with the individual cogs helped keep out of the red, particularly 4th and 5th gears. If you want I'll pm you the ratios I used.

Yes please Tony.

In that case, you'll not have anyone to race anyone again  Smiley Only tried the Healey and that'll do for me, great fun.

Just finished a full length race against the AI. Pleased to report that the Chevron Ford, although running with red oil and water and a fine plume of smoke down the straights, never gets close to blowing up.  angel

Group 2 for me. I like the Healey, but the BMW Chevron is a lot of fun and about the same pace for me so I'll probably take that.

I changed the internal sounds of the BMW to the Ford audio as they seemed a bit odd, so I hope that doesn't throw up any mismatches (think I've done this with others cars and they were ok).

The McLaren is very entertaining and not as bad as I remember it being, but I'm well off pace with that.

This series deserves a big turnout imo and I hope we see good grid numbers tonight.

I agree that the BMW sound is a bit off. Perhaps you can explain what you did GT so that others can switch too?

I'm suprised that no-one has publicly claimed the Mantra. It's a fine car once you get over the rev noise!

Go to Gamedata>Teams>ExtraCars>Chevron_B16 and select the car whose file you wish to change (you'll need to make a note of the car# from in game).
Click on the CAR file and make a backup copy to desktop (or wherever).
Go back to the GTL files and locate the car whose sound you wish to use.
Open the CAR file in notepad and copy the name of that car's sound file (4th line down).
Are you still with me Smiley
Now go back to the file of the car whose sound you wish to change and replace it's sound name with that of the sound you wish to replace it with (paste it Smiley)

If you get a mismatch, you have a copy of the original CAR file. You did make a copy didn't you Smiley

Great car that Healey Repco. An instant favourite with me, just handled how I want my car to drive Cool Cool

Good race long battle with Tony, never quite sure how it would pan out. The classic me faster in the corners & Tony quicker on the straights Cool

Congrats finishers.

I too thoroughly enjoyed the drive in the Chevron BMW. Although the car graphics are a little basic, the driving model and the (modded) sounds more than make up for it. Great sense of being in the car  Cool

Don't know about anyone else but I was knackered with about 5 laps to go....must be me age creeping up  Roll Eyes
