I had 4th all locked up until my mother-in-law (who doesn't speak much english) said there was someone at the door who wanted to talk to me. I pulled off to the side of the road just before the start/finish for a little 3 minute break. Shame how real life gets in the way of racing.

I really liked that Healy. I had to make some drastic changes to dial out the understeer. It was odd that the car didn't respond well to changes. In the end, I cranked up the rear bar to max and dropped the front bar a few clicks, fiddled with the shock and spring settings as well.

Congrats to Mark for the win and what seemed to be great pace.

Encouraging turnout for a Monday night, congrats Tony. Was there another race some went to?

No time for pracci left me a bit undercooked pace wise but had a ball. Bogged down at start, apologies to all. Had a fun time coming back with nice little fights with Ade, the Healey looks amazing from all angles, and GT. Then stuck with not a hope of catching Mike and having the occasional 917 and chronic understeer for company but  still enjoyed it as even hotlapping in these cars is fun. Tough break Mike as your pace easily deserved the win but there's always next week Smiley

Congrats to all and standards were spot on, not easy with the difference in pace (McNish anyone?). Great result for Team KC.

Put your frame/desk closer to the door and tell them to bugger off I'm racing, kind of Smiley

Smiley A really nice race for me finally mastering the 917 especially after the embarrassment of the Spa 24 Hour fiasco. I only had 2 small offets in the whole race. It has a real buzz going flat out up the hill from the left hand-er at the bottom eventually coming onto the finish straight (not sue on corner names sorry). I managed to get the Porsche set up spot on for me it was great. Since I was so far a head I decided to set my self the task of lapping the cars in my class but could not quite catch Pelle before the finish.  Grin

I did the whole race on softs and just had a little red in the wear bar left at the end with the car still handling quite well. Congratulations to all whom finished and every one whom got out of the way of the flying Porsche so professionally top driving guys many thanks.  thumbup2

Just a footnote..........these races are fortnightly, not weekly.

I was quite pleased with the way that turned out. Could have used a few more drivers but I don't think that diminished the enjoyement of the event too much. And no cars blew up which was nice. Shame about Navin having to leave and Mike being interupted (I thought you guys had guns?). C'mon get your priorities sorted willya?
Had a last minute change of mind and took the Matra as I thought it was going to be overlooked. Nice to see Helle decided to take it too and claim the new lap record for this make. Shame you didn't last the course.
Most of my race was spent either in front of, but usually behind Legzy, who I could banzai on the straights but lost out to on the slower twisty bits. Unfortunately I had set my gearing with a really long 2nd gear and this meant I had no power at those tight apex's.
Although I had fitted hard tyres by lap 15'ish they were giving up and my driving suffered and I had several offs. The last one took me out into the brazilian countryside and I lost touch with Mr L. Still I had a blast screaming around this fab circuit (now in my top 10, so expect to see it appear in the future).
BTW was I warping last night? There was a moment about mid way through when I lost sight of everyone on track. I thought great I'm out but then as quick as it went it came back again and was sound for the remainder of the race.

Hope to see you all at Kyalami.

Unofficial LapChart

Just finished a full length race against the AI. Pleased to report that the Chevron Ford, although running with red oil and water and a fine plume of smoke down the straights, never gets close to blowing up.  angel
Yup, finished the race with engine life 100% although regularly in the red on the straights.

Congrats to all and standards were spot on, not easy with the difference in pace (McNish anyone?). Great result for Team KC.

When I was halfway on the straight in my little Chevron and saw a 917 at the beginning, I had to pull over at the end. Closing speeds were really fast  Shocked
Pity the 430 Am drivers who got all the flack. It's not easy to gauge these prototype monsters.

Nice race.

Yes & no.
You were warping quite a bit in the early couple of laps, jumping round a bit, a few meters each way kind of thing, not too bad but then I got left behind quite quickly & then a lap or so later when I caught you again, all was well.
But I too lost everyone about half way through, somebody had just lapped us a few secs earlier & then boom, everyone was gone, twice in a minute. It behaved the whole rest of the race, no warping no probs at all. Smiley

Big grats Cinderby...& unbelievable you could get your soft to keep the entire race  thumbup1

My preparation was not quite as planned (just been in hospital & had surgery) & fell asleep a couple hours before the race & woke up last minute, 28 sec two race  Shocked
I drove at Intermedia & the last half car was more & more impossible to run. Henry was in the pit about half way & I thought it was for new tires, but no: StopNgo.
It gave me second place & I bet therefore keeping finish without pit stop...but the last 2 laps I thought the tires would blow  Cool

Happy to finish as number 2 after a long break from Sim race  Wink
