All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (22 laps = ~60mins)

Track: Interlagos - Autodromo José Carlos Pace 1979 Download this

Cars allowed:

GROUP S5.0

Porsche 917K Download this Note: This is V2.0. If you have the older version you should un-install it and replace with this.

Ferrari 512S Download this

GROUP P3.0

Matra Simca MS650 Download this

GROUP P2.0

Healey Repco XR37 Download this

McLaren M1A Download this

Chevron B16 Download this Note: This is a revised version which has improved sound and some other improvements. Also the Mazda powered car has been removed.

Drivers are reminded that the maximum number of drives in any group is five.

Time of Day Setting: 16:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk WPC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page

Special Notes: Some of the cars have a "Modern Compound" tyre choice. Can I ask that all drivers do not use these tyres please.

Chevron B16 (not Cosse) about my limit. Do I get concessionary rate not to be limited to 5 drives in this group? After all entitled to one for transport!

I'd like to see you broaden your horizons Bill Thomas. May join you but in the Healey.

The Chevrons have all proved to be troublesome and I was in two minds whether to include them or not. If they are to bad I'll drop them. I don't think the BMW powered car has this problem. I'll be testing the others later today to see how bad they are i.e. if they last a race or not.

Been race testing the Chevrons. The BMW is the easiest to drive, doesn't need to have the revs watched but does feel slower than the others. Both the Ford and Cosworth run hot but if you watch the revs and select the right cogs they should last the distance. The Ford is nice to drive whilst the Cosworth is a slippery character with lovely drift characteristics as long as they don't catch you out. For all the cars I preferred to decrease the camber for a bit more "feel" through the wheel.

I have included the Mclaren M1A in the slower group. It's an older car but some may enjoy the challenge  Shocked

The Healey feels slow but is a nicer car to drive than I thought it would be.

I think I'll take a Chevron (Ford or Cosworth) just to see if it will last the distance and not explode!

I too tested the group 2 cars last night (didn't have a go in the mclaren as it wasn't offered then). The Healey drove very nice and was running the same pace as the Ford and BMW Chevrons. The Cosi Chevron is quite a bit quicker, but the handling is spooky at best. I had to make radical setup adjustments just to keep it on the road. It still isn't to my liking, but at least it is predictable now. I'll likely drive it because I'm considerably quicker in that then the others.

Agree, Chevron Ford is nicest drive - just have to watch engine life & short shift if necessary.

Nice to have you back Pelle. No need to reserve cars for this series. Just turn up and take what you want. Only restriction is a maximum of 5 races in any group.

I found playing with the individual cogs helped keep out of the red, particularly 4th and 5th gears. If you want I'll pm you the ratios I used.
