You don't have to pay, as long as you have any licensed copy of GTL. I had a normal GTL version and just scanned (took photos rather) of the serial number and other things they require to send you a free serial number for the digital version. Check it out here: http://www.raceroom.net/specials/gt-legends-revival/

Not to mention there are cracks out there which at one time we were actively advertising It's my understanding that the G*** C***** crack had it's own problems. There was also a free GTL disk given away with a German (Swiss?) computer mag cover disk which had no copy protection and runs fine with Windows 7. The digital download from Raceroom is just the latest way to add GTL to your Windows 7 PC.

Tough race, but really enjoyable. Grabbed the lead at the start due to Hristo making a bad getaway & opened up a bit of a lead over Navin & Pelle. After Navin discoed & Hristo got past Pelle for 2nd I had about a 3-4s lead, expected Hristo to close the gap, but was surprised to keep the gap steady until just after half-distance. Then my talent & concentration started to fade & I kept making little mistakes & Hristo was suddenly right on my rear bumper. Tyres were going off a little too & Hristo got ahead, briefly retook the lead but couldn't do it a second time & had to settle for 2nd. Great driving Hristo, congrats, also to Pelle in 3rd.

Good fun. was hoping to have some battles with GT in the other yank tank, but got nudged into a spin from behind on lap 1 and dropped back. Didn't really have the pace to catch so languished midfield alone for most of the race, until PHil helpfully fell off and I had a couple of laps of fun getting in his way Seemed to be more than the usual dropped conns, Phil also hung on the straight, and then discoed.

Had a great start and arrived at the top of the hill in 4th or 5th (I think, could be mistaken ). However at the 3rd turn I nudged either Matt or GT and their lumbering Mustang began a slow spin. I waited for him to regain control/lose it totally and was hit by Bill which spun me around too. Regained my composure and trundled off in last place but with the rest off the field not so far away that they couldn't be caught. After a couple more laps I was in sight of Bill and soon caught and passed him. Then closed on the duel between Eifel and Alex. Took Eifel after he had an off (I think?) and proceeded to chase Alex who seemed to have the same pace as me. Then spent lap after lap after lap slowly making inroads into Alex's lead. Eventually I was close enough to have a go and after a struggle managed to overtake him and make it stick. Then my tyres went silly and I started to lose the best lines through the twisty's. Alex took the best advantage of this and closed and overtook me and held a handsome lead for the final few laps. Great race and good turnout too, thanks guys.

A late opportunity to race for me, but no time for any practice. My usual Alfa ride felt awful here with far too much understeer so decided to take the stang, which didn't feel any better really but I knew would give me a good start up the hill against the Alfas.
Sure enough I made up a few places but resisted the temptation to go piling into T1 which was a good job as we were 3 or 4 abreast at one stage going through there. Things were still very tight through the next series of turns and I lost a couple of places and then found myself with a clear gap as others tangled behind me. Phil was in sight for most of the race, but I couldn't close him down enough to get ahead on the straight so it ended up being a bit of a dull race for me.
I've had a bit of a lucky streak in simworld this week as a result of other's misfortunes. Makes a change for me. Last night was no different as Navin, Ade and Phil all discoed and I inherited a thoroughly undeserved 4th place. Congrats to Hristo, Geoffers and Pelle for the win and their podies.

That was a great race, especially the chase with Geoffers. Although I had the countdown timer turned on this time, I still made a bad start and dropped down to 5th or something by the time we reached T1. Managed to make up a place, but then it took quite a while to pass the next 2 cars. In the meantime I could see Geoffers pulling away in the distance and that made me think I've lost all chance of victory as he seemed too fast.
One of the cars in front suddenly stopped moving completely on the s/f straight, due to disconnect obviously, but not wanting to take a risk of whether I could go through it or not, I managed to avoid it narrowly. Then it was Pelle up front I believe and we had a short battle for about a lap or two before I managed to get through.
By then the gap to Geoffers was more than 3 seconds and initially I could only barely keep up with him, then slightly reduce it by a few tenths, but then I made a big mistake going off and the gap increased to more than 4 seconds. Considering his pace, I thought that's it, no chance to win at all now, but I began to experiment with different lines through some corners and also lift up less doing gearshifts, almost completely speed-shifting. As a result, the gap began to go down gradually, but it was still not as quick as I needed.
Then Geoffers must have made a mistake because he was suddenly much closer, about 2 seconds and something, and with a couple of laps to go I realized it might actually be possible. Obviously the tires were getting worn out and it was particularly difficult on corner entry with the frontend pushing wide, so we both lost some overall pace, but I still managed to close in on him lap after lap.
When I finally got close enough for an attack, it proved to be much more difficult than I expected, and I had to wait for a whole lap before making an attack, but then Geoffers got back the lead at the end of the s/f straight. I followed him during the next lap and then we entered the last lap with him still in the lead, but I managed to pass him on the inside towards that long slow right-hander before the flat out chicane near the end of the lap. Although he got a better exit out of the corner, it wasn't enough and I managed to cross the line in first place.
Thanks for the great race, Geoffers, I was not expecting it and it really made me push to my limit. I'm looking forward to another race against you and the rest.

Could have been a better one for me.
Was able to go the pace of Alex, Tony and Bill during the first laps, then had an off during a nice battle with Alex which was my own fault and so lost connection to the competitors. So I had my usual and lonely race at the end of the field. The track pleased me more and more and I was able to set a new PB with 2.22.2.
Thanks again Tony for organizing this one and the whole season.
Not sure whether I can make the fun event on Thursday at Thermalito (announced over at GTLDK). Have to fulfill some duties cause my mother got an artificial hip on Monday and is still in the hospital.
See you soon.

Unofficial LapChartGreat action packed race Think all is said by WT and Eifel. Great battles with respect for each others machinery. Best part of it all is that I could roll my Alfa back into the garage without a scratch. Great stuff

Thanks for organising the event and sorry for hitting you.
Lately I've been increasingly having difficulty in finding adequate time for my racing - on the night nothing clicked and I just couldn't concentrate so I reluctantly quit.
My racing is the most important part of my involvement with SimRacing, so I hope you'll excuse a lack of any forum posts. I may or may not race if I'm not really with it (they're at my Horlicks again Tony) but when it's a "go go" night I'll drive through to the end or wrecking my car.
