Moderator's Report

A great track for our Porsches and a great debut from our French Flyers with a debut 1,2 finish.

More Pro than Am they will race in different colours next time out.

Server replay time: 0h27m43s

Andrea runs into the back of Nicky at Woodcote and spins him.
This is the second time the two have come into contact and the second time Nicky has been on the receiving end.

The first incident is not reported as such but I will mention it as I examined it.
Andrea has not overlap at turn in but Nicky seemed to move over earlier than on previous laps when Andrea was visible in the mirrors going for the inside. The pass attempt was late and unlikely to succeed but I will not apply a punishment here.

The second incident which was reported is much more clear cut and is not an overtake attempt, Andrea intends to follow Nicky but simply does not react quickly enough and runs into the back of him.

This was a clumsy collision that should have been avoided.

Moderator's Report

There were some incidents in this race after lap 1 that went unreported so they will not be moderated or punished, but if you get a minute it is worth watching Vosblod punt his team mate Steve off at Abbey.

Server replay time: 0h00m58s

Fabio is still putting out his cigarette as the race starts so he doesn't see how close he gets to Geoff on the run to T1.

As he turns his mobile phone off and puts it in the glove compartment he hits Geoff and ends up in a barrel roll while Geoff continues apparently unaffected apart from the cost of some white paint and turtle wax.

Though unreported this is a lap 1 incident so it comes under moderation, but as Fabio is the only one affected and ends up last I have not punished his stupidity.

His punishment is knowing that everybody will now watch his replay.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h01m55s

Jason follows Geoff into Stowe and hits him.
Jason seemed to make a lazy and failed attempt at a pass but neither committed to it or backed out of it.
The end result was inevitable as the 2 make contact and Geoff is punted off.

There was an element of warp involved and Geoff was warping at times but that cannot be used as an excuse as Jason should have backed out of the move earlier.

I have taken warp into account but this was still an avoidable incident.

Server replay time: 0h17m28s

Pedro follows Ronnie into Stowe but only 1 emerges but can you guess which one?

Yes! The one at the back.

This was a tricky one as Pedro has no overlap at turn in and does not look to be trying a pass, but Ronnie slides off the line mid corner and a gap opens as they start to exit the corner.

Ronnie corrects his slide and moves back towards the inside where Pedro now is and the two make contact.

At first glance this would appear to be Pedro being a little ambitious but I think a valid passing opportunity opens up until Ronnie corrects and the collision occurs on Pedro's side of the track.

Both recover and Pedro slows to wait for Ronnie, though this is not advisable and often causes further trouble rather than being a simple gentlemanly gesture.

Thanks for the info Sergio - I am really unsure why you and Fabio have problems connecting. You have been successful in the past though, haven't you? I will also check tonight because it may be that I set the number of drivers to 12 (it is the default) by accident - the thirteenth would be the server. Don't think so but I will check.

No chance for me to join tonite :'(

Well, pleased I never got chance to practice.  Race lasted 1 lap, car disappeared from the screen in front of me in a braking zone and reappeared attached to the front of the car! That somehow made the engine catch fire  Huh

Tim, sorry if I turned in too early at Abbey.  I ended up in between 2 cars I think and was trying to leave room both sides!  Obviously didn't work.

Well, if on tuesday I was Jensen, then tonight I was Lewis! I had soo much speed in the race but I just couldnt make it work for me! I was sitting in a comfortable 4th place when I lost concentration and put a wheel off at Abbey - it cost me half a minute of lost time! I then set about chasing the pack in front, passsing Ronnies stricken porka at Maggotts, and chasing down axel, getting my best lap time of a 32.9 on the way.. I caught him with 2 laps left to go and promptly outbraked myself.... almost caught him again on the last lap but clipped the kerb and lost the car big style!  Not my best outing but I still gained 6 places from yet another dreadful starting position!

Gentlemen,

It would be REALLY helpful if you make sure that you join the correct server with the correct car (Cookie, Du Fossa Sad ). Also if you are guesting, please put a post in to let me know which team you are running in. It helps to avoid guesswork. Martin - I have you in the Hiki Waza 2 team - was that right or were you Team 7? Let me know and I can correct it.

I have had to edit the HTML race result and the race reports to remove incorrect drivers and I have to map unknown drivers to their forum names. If you have not raced before, a post to let me know what your driving name will be is also helpful. Not that I mind the hour or so it has taken me to get the results in... <sigh>. Suppose I asked for it.

Race was ok, had three mins qually after chasing Du Fossa off T7 (Thanks Fulvio) Sorry about the shouty chat there - I didn't know how to chat to just one person. If people want a giggle they can see me taking Du Fossa out in a less than subtle attempt to get his attention. Didn't work though. Lol.

I felt very sorry for him as he qualified nicely on T7 and then had a really bad time on GPG8. Sorry mate.

I just decided to limp round and see what points I could get with most concentration on not getting in the way. I had mixed success. Juha hit me when I tried to leave room at Copse, Axel span off when I was too slow at Beckets and Fabio was more eager than a beaver when passing me for last... I wasn't fighting it. Vos had earlier misunderstood me and backed off. Lol. I am not quite that slow Tim!

Jonny O disappeared by me on Lap 1 and I didn't see him again until well into Copse where he had a warp moment I think. Scary. Lots of crashes ahead and I was amazed that so many people escaped.

Finally came to life at the end and wanted to hold Fabio off but coming out of Abbey I saw yellows and knew my Teamie was there - time to take to the grass. Arrrgggghhhh. Fab is past and I can maybe get him on the Farm Straight as he has a poor exit but I think better of it - I didn't want to put us both out at the last corner so I just settled in behind three laps down.

Overall good fun but as I was running a temperature I felt I did OK. Got home and got some points for the team.

Go Hiki Waza. Well done H. Stunning although I think you might have your hands full with French Tom. What would a Tom, H, Tom sandwich be called?

Another short one for me then. Got hit on first corner, not sure if that contributed to the camshaft giving up on lap 2...hey ho.

As a newbie, I'm still trying to find my around all the pages and threads. I've checked the PSC Silverstone pages, and the PSC registration thread - I can't see the post that tells me where to look for the server 1 replay (it may not have been uploaded yet, I'm not chasing whoever has that job). I know this info will be somewhere, just need to know where to look.

Thanks

My job, Colin. It is being uploaded now. The replays are stored under the 'Replays' item on the UKGPL front page - top left, just above forums. Should be obvious from there.

Any problems give me a shout.

There's no way I could've done a low 30, not even a mid 30, at least not with my setup. Tom was kind enough to send me his, so I'll take a look at it and try to figure out if it was the setup or that he's just a much quicker driver than I am.

My race was a lonely one for most of its part, after the initial scrap with Sam and subsequently Juha was brought to an end when both made mistakes and dropped back. Despite making some errors, I could gradually increase the gap back to Juha and keep 1st, even with an off near the end when the wheel lock up bug kicked in.

I must congratulate Sam on his great pace in Qualifying!

Gentlemen,

It would be REALLY helpful if you make sure that you join the correct server with the correct car (Cookie, Du Fossa Sad ).

Paul  euro
sorry for making extra work, but when I tell you what happenend you will laugh:
After some great fun racing this afternoon with Andrea in LeMans with my ChapF I was a little tired  yawn and laid down.....
AWAKING  Shocked ...dark outside!?...21:18GMT on my clock.....uhhhhhhhhhh  cursing ....pc started.... looking which server Juha is....pw.... and go!....still 17minQuali....but car sounds strange deep Shocked .... OMG wrong car!  oops ...leave server ... rejoin

Practice went ok but couldnt make a 2nd stint where I use to make my best times

Race start was good as I managed to keep fast Pedro behind me following Ray. Could keep Rays pace but Pedro was  pushing hard behind, so I decided to be a team player and defend. So Pedro had a very defensive  Cookie to swallow, what he finally did after some laps in an excellent maneuver  thumbup1
Still a little sleepy my pace went down until I saw Pedro and Ray in the green. Could pass them carefully with Jason getting bigger in my mirror.
Tried to get faster but Pedro was coming again from behind. Now I wanted to defend my position but Pedro is better in infight
So I dreamed further when in last laps this Jason came again pretty near promising a hard last lap. But he made a mistake in one of the last corners and made me a lucky 5th thumbup2

Gratz to podium and all finishers
Thx for great racing

Cheers

The results currently show me as subbing for Hiki-Waza 2, and much though I admire their talent, I'm fully paid up, as a reserve for Pastit Porsche. Grin

There's not a lot to tell here.  My biggest battle was with a building, which I happened apon at an awkward moment.

An ok grid position, was cancelled out by a dive across a curb, during the first lap, to avoid a car in front.  It's time those were ripped out!  Recovering, I was pursued briefly by Fulvio, and at greater length, by teammate Natan.  And I was just considering  where to let him by, when my disobedient car decided for me! A touch too much opposite lock, and some new territory suddenly opened up before me.  Sadly, the property developers had beaten me to it, and I was only allowed a brief visit, to an exterior wall.  I don't like to grumble, but this caused half the cylinders on my motor to fall off, and the race wasn't even half finished yet!  Surprisingly, as I'd hit face first, no other damage was done - except for the black smoke, which always happens when I'm angry.  Angry

So I proceeded to shuffle along, in limp mode - there were still points to be won, by soldiering on.  Also, some good practice, for an aspiring mobile chicane, but not quite what I had in mind.  This Snails pace race, actually gained me 2 or 3 positions, and a better understanding, of every blade of grass, around the track.  Aarrrrggh!!  "Calm . . . breathe deep . . . Nailed a time better than my time round Silvy in a 65 during practice, but couldn't buy a decent laptime in Qually. Managed a low 33 on the last, desperate lap to maintain 8th after having dropped to 11th at one point  eek
A steady start saw me leaving a good safety margin to the cars in front at T1......this IS pro remember. Fabio must have been late for work, cos he arrived behind rather quickly and attempted to re-model the engine bay of my Porsche  Shocked Lukily for me, he came off second best with a spin, roll and Pike, leaving me to continue undamaged. It slowed me for a bit allowing Tim, Jason, Edouardo and Steve to catch right up and the first couple of hectic laps were about consolidating the position and settling into a rythm. Tim made it a little easier by punching our teamie Steve off at Abbey, and following to see if he was alright  Roll Eyes Jason caught up and pushed for the remainder of lap 1, but I seemed to be able to hold him at bay without going defensive, as our cars worked well at different points of the circuit. Until Stowe on lap 2  when Jason got a bit impatient and simply punted me out of the way.  Angry  Lost 2 spots here as Edouardo got by before I was back under way. Chased him as hard as I could with a big, fat fuel-laden car until lap 10 when he messed up Chapel and handed me back the place. Held him in check til lap 13 when I screwed up at Club and had a spin all of my own. Rejoined and just settled in for a steady drive to the finish Edouardo retired soon after and gave me back 7th place. Stayed out of the way of the lapping H, Juha and Sam. With 1 to go Sam spun off at Woodcote and allowed me to unlap myself..Ta Sam. All in all a pleasing race, few errors and fair consistency with agood points haul for 7th.....maybe 6th after moderation.  Roll Eyes  Congrats to the podium wallahs.....much too fast for me.
