I'll jump out of Benetton for the last 2 races.. Maybe try one of the new cars. Tyrrell perhaps if a seat is available.. See what shapes up Undecided..

Too many little errors which added up to make the car very understeery. I went wide at turn 2 and knocked off my left front wheel. Game over Sad

A very very tough race sweatdrop..  I was spent afterwards like no other race this year angel. Plus, I had some real distractions here at my house that was being painted as we raced. Banging, sanding, dog barking and the fear that one of them would have to ask me a question during the race. I felt like a child having to tell the Foreman that I would still be at home but couldn't be disturbed because I was going to be racing with my buddies online.. He just looked at me funny Roll Eyes and said no problem. As far as the race went I had a great time for the first 1/3 chasing Sam who was very fast and consistent. He was driving very well and I couldn't break his concentration. Then for some reason he just went straight through at one of the tight corners.. Didn't look like he missed his braking point and he did just leave the race after that so I guessing he had some distraction at home that needed his attention. Hope we can finish that battle in the future Sam thumbup1

Was excellent fun Navin. That lap I went off was simply embarrassing. I was daydreaming for a few seconds and before I knew it I was carrying too much speed to make the turn so thought I'd go straight on instead of risking losing my front wing. That plan didn't work as I hit an invisible wall and knocked off the front wing anyway  Roll Eyes. Later in the lap, with a loss of downforce, I did the same thing again and hit another wall, stalling the engine!  Embarrassed

Before that moment I was loving the race. I must thank Navin for not trying anything rash or desperate because I was sure I was slowing him down in the corners only for the Honda's power to allow me to gain some space on the straight. This F1 series is simply brilliant, and I'm particularly enjoying the street circuits, despite them being savage when you make a mistake. Congrats to all the finishers.

Have to say this circuit is great  thumbup1 Ditto what Samb said about the F188 and street track combos.

Sorry to join Navin in more car jumping but if GT is happy I don't mind jumping out of the Lotus. The pace wasn't all of the car, I must have done at least 3 hrs practise!!! but happy to stick with it otherwise!!  Kiss

Even less excuse for the two nose-cones I lost tho  Roll Eyes Was happy with pole and with my team mate in 2nd. Started with 90L and hard tyres as the wear rate was 2% per lap! Managed to pull a slowly increasing gap on Samb and Navin and then my about 1/3 way thru my phone went and I looked over to see who it was... and clipped an inside wall which sent me into another losing nose cone and damaging splitter & suspension & hard tyres. I recovered a lap down after full repairs and still 2nd! seemed we all pitted for repairs at the same time!!!  Shocked

I unlapped myself from Navin who I guessed was pacing himself and just let me by. Didn't realistically think I could close down a laps gap on him but was banking he would have to stop for tyres (as was my original plan before the crash!). I ended up trying too hard and clouting the wall, and pitting again just for a nose cone this time. Still managed 2nd somehow!!!

Grats Navin for another solid and almost drama-free drive   Cool

I would happily do a season of Detroit and Monaco on cycle   Cheesy  Wink

I think you're suffering a bit from "goldtop syndrom" here Andy  laugh Loads of practice and enthusiasm means that you are unbalancing yourself. Couple that with the fact that you arrived a bit later to this mod and now that you're familiar with it, your true pace is shining through. I'm sure no-one here will object to you trying a slower car though Wink

We are currently exploring ways of tweaking the format for next season and I'm hopeful it will produce an even better series than this one.

Nice track.

I missed my braking point at T1 on lap 10, game over. Lips Sealed

Just a few more laps of practise would have helped I think. Roll Eyes

Well done all, as we do not know that track as well, it was potentially more difficult than Monaco. With the same level of knowledge of the track Monaco would still be harder I believe.

Having a good dice is what it is all about Sam!! I would rather have a good battle that lasts the entire race even if I don't get the position as opposed to a flag to flag win any day Grin Great to hear a next season too  Wink
