I'm looking forward to this one too.  The bus-stop chicane is going to mix it up a little compared to last seasons race here.  Should still be really good fun, we just need to keep it steady into the chicane.

I'm really disappointed there was some contact into T1 which dropped me to last place with an absolutely horribly handling car so I was about a second off the pace in the first stint.

Pitted as early as I dared for a monstrous stop to repair the damage and came out a long way behind Simon and Jasper.

I then started to hook up some decent laps and was hauling Jasper in on his worn tyres at a fair rate only for the chequered flag to come out a lap or two early for me. That was a really fun chase to the line Jasper, brave man for not getting new rubber I have to say! euro

Well done to Simon on the win and thanks to the DP's who were great Smiley

That was a fun race, after the start there was some trouble in T1 which allowed me to take third place behind Simon and Peter. Had a nice battle with Peter and overtook him after a couple of laps to take second. I wasn't expecting to keep up with Simon since he qualified about 2 seconds quicker and I didn't Cheesy

Around half way into the race he had some kind of disagreement with the bus stop chicane, which reduced the gap to about 5 seconds at the pit stops. That made me decide to not take tires and I managed to sneak ahead with a couple of seconds margin. I was expecting Simon to now engage turbo mode and he did but spun catching me, widening the gap to 10 ish seconds. I was hoping to keep him behind me but a spinning DP caught me a bit off guard and he could slip by easily.

That wasn't the end of it though as Iain had engaged turbo mode as well and was closing rapidly as I was struggling with worn rubber. Luckily the chequered flag came a few laps too soon for him to overtake me, granting me second place.

Thanks to everyone for an entertaining race, traffic was pretty intense at times (even for just 4 DP's, looked like you guys had quite a race!) but everyone was very respectful. Cheers!

Watkins has frequently been kind to me, but that was a better result by far than I dared hope for. I knew I was the slowest DP, but I could see Darren was having trouble consistently hooking up fast laps and I duly pinched 3rd on the grid and the much tastier inside line into The 90.

After a few laps Darren was all over me out of the Esses every lap, but I just kept it neat and tidy, managed to play the traffic well, and stayed ahead, watching the battle between David and Jamie (and of course hoping they'd take each other out angel ). They both had self-induced spins which dropped them back which left me in the lead. Shocked

Was planning to pit a few laps ahead of schedule if Darren was still right up my exhausts, just to cover any sneaky pit lane shenanigans, but as it happened something that I didn't spot in my mirrors happened and he dropped around 10 seconds, so I stayed out until exactly half distance to minimise the fuel load, Darren coming in behind me, and then somehow losing not only a couple of seconds in the pits, but a few more behind two Mustangs in the Esses. laugh angel

I knew he'd then push like crazy to catch me, and he duly did - but luckily for me, Jamie had other ideas and they started squabbling after they got to about 7 seconds behind me. I kept pushing as hard as I dared, especially when Jamie got into second, after which Darren started dropping back (short of fuel?) and Jamie was catching me quite quickly, but I could see time was running out and I got to the chequered flag with the gap down to under 5 seconds. sweatdrop

That leaves the DP championship in a fascinating state - with Jove and I both due to drop 83 points as our worst score, and Darren behind by about the same amount with a no-show as his drop, any one of us could take the title at Silverstone. w00t

Well done to Simon on the win and thanks to the DP's who were great Smiley

Likewise - in some critical phases I was having to be much more aggressive in the traffic than I'm really comfortable with, and all the Mustangs were without exception super predictable and showed great awareness. Cool

Well done to Simon on wrapping up the drivers title with a round to go, and Team Shark for taking the GT3 team title too. thumbup2

I qualified with a new PB some half a second faster than I'd ever gone before with a banzai launch through the bus stop. Smiley I knew I wasn't quite as fast in the race, but hoped that it would be enough. After the 3-into-1 doesn't go incident behind me at T1, Pete and Jasper were 2nd and 3rd. Jasper soon dispatched Pete, but I eased into a small but comfortable lead.

Nearing the end of the first stint I got caught DP watching into the bus stop as Jamie passed me and by the time I took my eyes off him my braking marker had already passed. I went bouncing over the curbs and across the grass, nearly losing control, but luckily not spinning. This gave me a slow down message (for clear and deliberate cheating Angry Undecided) and with a small gap behind I was able to slow immediately. This put Jasper right back up with me within a couple of seconds and with my tyres feeling a little bit of age it was all I could do to maintain the gap and not give him the slipstream.

Jasper pitted first and a couple of laps later I pitted to take on fresh rubber and a bit of fuel (adding another gallon on what I'd calculated I needed. You can never tell what will happen if you pick up a bit of aero damage your consumption can go up a lot, so better to be safe than sorry and the fuelling was still less than changing the tyres!)

To my horror, but not totally unexpected Jasper was now 2 seconds ahead of me after he elected to not change tyres. As Jasper said, this caused me to engage turbo boost, but in my haste I tried a qualifying lap style route through the bus stop and on the exit I lost the back end and spun in a cloud of smoke. Luckily for me I hit nothing and somehow managed to have it pointing the right way. That put me 10 seconds behind Jasper and with caution being thrown to the wind I carried on with my fast lap times to close him down.

I managed to catch him with about 20 minutes to go? and was ready to work out how to find a way by when David span in the last corner causing Jasper and I to take evasive action. With Jasper ahead though he had to slow more and I got the run on him for an easy pass on the start/finish straight and into T1. From then on it was easy going and a small but comfortable margin emerged at the end, hiding the drama in the middle.

Shame to not see Raimo there to put up a fight and the lack of DPs was disturbing.

I do hope SRou iR league racing is not dead, but it's not looking good.

With the DP team title still up for grabs I wonder if it's worth swapping to the DP for the last race to try and fend off those Legends. At the very least my post may get more of the Legends to turn up for the final round to try and ensure their arch enemies don't nick it off them at the last moment. Wink
