All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (20 laps = ~40mins)

Track: Osterreichring Download this

Cars allowed: Alfa Romeo GTA, Ford Mustang, Lotus Cortina

This race will use the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0.

Time of Day Setting: 10:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk WPC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page

Special Notes: None

Can't make this one, taking a few days break down in Cornwall.  Grin A short notice booking at a chalet off beaten track  yes but close enough to the local "A" class roads for a short trip to civilisation.  thumbup1

Should be 70, as it's the same tracks as prototypes only a week later.

It's the 70's track. Exactly as we used last week in GTL.

Eifel, sorry for the hit at turn 1. I thought I had that corner. I'll check the replay. If it looks like you were halfway alongside me I'll drop myself a place.

Congrats to Navin and the rest. Was fun from the start. Ade had a great one and led, I got to 2nd, then I pushed him hard for a lap or two until he went wide at Tiroch. Navin followed me closely then, I think we pulled some gap to 3rd, he got passed few times but I was always close enough to return the favor on straights. Then the most silly error happened, I was braking for Tiroch and suddenly I felt the rear getting loose which was surprising as I wasn't in too fast, then I looked at gear indicator and it was showing 2nd gear instead of 3rd!!  Roll Eyes, So that spun costed me 13 seconds and damaged my tyres possibly. Phil caught me and passed me after I went too wide at Tiroch. Pitty, I had 2nd in the bag, might have won, though Navin was really pushing me, I planned to use defensive lines for Schikane complex, so depending on tires, I might have held up.Cheesy

Eifel, I've checked the replay and it was my bad so I've reversed our respective finish positions. Only fair.

Thanks Tony - you're a very fair and honest guy.
I desperately wanted to pass you using the sledgehammer
although I was already fighting with weakening tyres.
Some laps later I was again only about 5 seconds behind you but
then lost not only the car after turn 1 but also complete motivation.
So I just finished the race in my familiar last place.
But the track is very fun to drive so I tried the whole race to improve
my personal best under 2:10 but without success.

See you  guys Thursday at Kielce

Big Grats NRJ, Ade & GT  thumbup1

Race:
Everything started out perfectly, NRJ on pole & me right after...& a fun race with a pair of Mustangs in the front, two completely different car types, each with their advantages of this track. Incredibly exciting race...until my gear shift began to tease.  Angry The first times I had saved it without too much lost time, but suddenly things went horribly wrong when it went from 5th to 1st  Shocked I came out of an impossible attempt to save it with locked rear wheels & held across in turn ?
'BIG SRY' I did everything to get away, got it in reverse...thought it had come back in 1st, but was still in reverse & did the situation worse  Undecided At this time I had really wanted to write 'retired', but tried again & it went well...most times. Ohh, forgot to tell, after gearbox failure was the engine down to 16%.
Fought me up again & got some close battles, thx fun...but in the last lap it goes wrong again, now the engine '0%'...but it can run over the finish line & do some fun before it dies completely  Cheesy

Finally on a good internet...and now it is all too often my shifts teases. Especially too bad when I take others down with  Embarrassed

Got to love this place as once again 2 different cars that can run very close in lap times. First laps were great to watch as the big boys flew away at the start. Ade and Oliver were really going for it. Fun watching a drifting class Mustang style Grin. Close but fairly fought it was Cool. Then after Ade had his problem it was a blast to dice with Oliver for the first 9 laps. I think I did actually touch ever so light a couple of times from behind but was already on the binders enough not to upset your car too much Wink It was great to race side by side many times through the first half of the race Grin. Good stuff Grin. Bad luck on the downshift problem. Lords knows we have all done that. Myself here just last week. Only it was at the end of the back straight I got all screwed up and hockey pucked it around the whole corner laugh.. Ade was very fast all the way through as well so if he didn't have the quick spin it could of very likely been a 3 way fight. Hell, Pelle and Goldtop had gained a lot of speed during race as well. 5 cars that were very very close in speed at end of race. If there was a "do over" just for fun race this would have to be high on the list Grin Maybe even a swap of cars laugh Good fun chaps

Very quiet race for me being in the slowest car (Lotus Cortina). Strange as I chose it because offline praccy had me the fastest in it.

Good start but in the first turn mayhem I gave Eifel a love tap which sent him off. Waited for him to pass and this let the rest of the field fly off into the sunset. As Eifel retook the place he suddenly swung wildly off to the right of the track and was collected by the armco so I was able to pass him. Didn't really see much more action. Just watched my XD countdown the seconds that Eifel was gaining on me. By about lap 10 he was definitely on my case and as we made the run down to the start line he went for the pass. At the top of the hill I could hear him on my RHS but figured that he had yielded to give me the corner. I was wrong. As I swung across the track to go flat out through the righthanders apex there was a huge bang as we collided. I was able to continue pretty much on course but Eifel had to wrestle for control of a very unstable looking Mustang. The Mustang won. I thought I had been enough in front to claim the racing line but the replay showed that Eifel had been at least three quarters alongside me, which makes me wonder how I didn't see him?

Nothing else to report as I saw no other cars, just watched the XD to see what was going on around me.
