All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (22 laps = ~40mins)

Track: Silverstone 1970 GP Circuit Download this

Cars allowed: Alfa Romeo GTA, Ford Mustang, Lotus Cortina

This race will use the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0.

Time of Day Setting: 10:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk WPC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page

Special Notes: This event is started by a flagman on the right hand side of the circuit. Recommend turning the start countdown on.

Server currently set for 42 laps not 22.  Which will it be tomorrow for the race?

Is the skin pack mandatory? Also, what's the password for the practice server?

Skin Pack - DEFINATELY REQUIRED or I wouldn't bother writing about it's requirement in the race announcement.

Practise Password details are also in the race announcement and I'm not allowed to post direct answers to any password related questions.

In short, If it's mentioned in the race announcement there's usually a good reason why  Wink

PS If you still need password advice send me a pm.

Ah OK, I get it. Thanks, I was thinking the practice server uses a different password.

Huh There is one password for practise sessions and another one for the actual race night event. One begins with "U" and the other begins with "C".

Well, honestly I can't see where the practice password is written then. Please PM it to me. I assume they're the same but I haven't actually tried joining to find out they're not.  Grin

Thanks Tony, another lovely car/track combo - had good fortune in late 50s/early60s to see a couple GPs on track. In days when countries still ran non championship GPs.

Set new PB in qualifying, would have been faster if I'd entered Woodcoote slightly slower and not hit bank and rolling end over end over line.  Made slow start, last into T1. Gradually fell back until couple cars had incident, passing Jamera.  Had few laps battling with him, eventually gradually drawing away.

Then caught SK after he had an off, we both made errors but had a long battle right to the end.  Had an OMG moment when SK drew level on straight between Stowe and Club?.  I was on inside trying to cover the approaching corner when I realised Tony was stationary, luckily he quit but it threw me, causing me to brake too late and run through, hitting the bank.  Luckily SK saw my problem and slowed so avoiding me bouncing into him.

Another fine evening's entertainment.

I went for a nap before the race and set my phone to wake me up at 10 am instead of pm, so I missed the race. By looking at the lap times and gaps I can see it was a great race, shame that I couldn't take part in it.
