Thanks Tony another fine car/track combo.  The good thing about it was I managed to setup the Aston so that I could actually drive it and was chuffed in the race for the first 12 or so laps able to race it.

Congrats to the race podium and the Series podium winners. Amazed myself in the free practice with my time, almost competitive - not so good in qualifying or the race. Made an average start and manage to pass a few people who had incidents.  Spent a while in around 8/9th racing with Tony, actually managed to stay ahead of him for a while but he was really pushing me and in the end I ran wide on entry onto that long straight and got gobbled up by 2 or 3 cars.  Then I ran wide into that chicane before the hairpin and regained track in last place, all in less than a lap.
I chased hard and eventually caught Alex and got by but he fought back continually and kept me honest right up the end.

Thanks Bill Thomas although the car choice was not really down to me  Wink

Don't know what they've been putting in your Horlicks but you were on top form last night. Really enjoyed our battles and looking forward to crossing swords again. Whilst we seem to have the same speed, I think my mechanics had given me better brakes and this meant I could brake later than you into those tighter turns.

So glad to last to the end for a change and thought that the track was better then I had expected. It definitely caught me out a couple of times when I had "off's".

was 3rd for the first lap until Hristo recovered from his bad start.

I never saw the green light, so I'm not sure what the signal was that started the race. Apparently I was the only one who missed it, as everyone else seemed to have reacted on time.  Roll Eyes

You can turn on countdown in options. Then you get 3,2,1, go at the start. You move on go, not 1.

Thanks, I must've missed that option.

Arrg you've almost cracked it. Actually, it's down to old age, lack of feel (drive in socks), I have difficulty in not locking up under heavy braking: the faster the car the further it travels in my reaction time.  Qualifying isn't too bad but in racing I need to be more conservative to prevent too many offs.

Yeh, I always use the countdown as it is the only reliable way to start. Most tracks are OK using the start lights, but some don't have them & others are mistimed so if you go on the lights you get a jumped start. Of course another occasional problem is that from certain grid positions you can't see the lights due to the rear-view mirror being in the way, had that in P&G  Roll Eyes.

Unofficial LapChart

Tons of fun this race. Had some nice battles all during the race especially with Bill.
Because you were faster on the straights I had to succumb to some bold moves. Hope you also view than as 'hard but fair' racing  Undecided

Lack of braking techniques in the end led to some unforced spins so came in last. You have won this battle Bill!

Congrats to the podium and many thanks to Tony to put together this format. It delivered some fine racing with less popular cars.

Hope to see some of you with the prototypes Monday @ Mugello. It's a good test for out Le Mans run end of December...

I'm not certain the Aston was faster, I think you perceived it to be because on the long straight I passed you but I think it was due to me being slower into corner and getting power down earlier than you whilst you had to get car  under control.  Regards driving standard that's OK  thumbup1 we all have to make late lunges in those circumstances.  By giving each other room contact was usually side to side not a tap to the rear quarter of a car already pointing across over takers bows.  Roll Eyes

Yea won that one but it'll be a lot different with the more powerful cars I feel, battle to be resumed on Monday.  wheelchair rockon

Did some more laps and the Aston is definitely a winner for me. Here's a comparison video of my current PBs:
