Had always liked the look of Mugello when the Moto GP guys are there but had never turned a lap here before last night. Had maybe 10 laps here last night and got the layout but was too tried for any more running.. I knew I'd have plenty of time before the race to practice so I just hoped for the best. As it turned out I got up to speed fairly late but none the less was feeling pretty good about the track. The Ferrari on the other hand wasn't my cup of tea as I just couldn't get a good balance with her. Either understeering to the point of knackering the front tires in a hurry too so loose that I can't get the power down without lured oversteering on exit. So I had to stay conservative on setup and knew I would be hurting later in the run with understeer. As it turned out it went just that way and although  I was in 3rd for a few laps I made 2 mistakes on one lap that took me off track shortly and dropped back to 6th.. I wasn't able to keep up with Hal at that point so I just soldered on. Got a gift of 5th place from Andy pitting. I then came up to Jamera who had pitted earlier and was a lap down was gracious enough to let me by. You weren't holding me up at all Jamera but it was a classy move none the less Wink After that is was just get to finish line time.. Love the track and would have to agree that this place is made for these types of cars Grin

Ferrari surprised me with even more understear than Arrows. Roll Eyes Quali was ok, 4th in this competition feels quite ok. Smiley Made a mistake in the opening laps and fell to 7th place I think. Kind people and / or some of their mistakes enabled me to advance to 3rd place. Last few laps were hellish pace of Purdie, H@l, Lazlow and me with similar pace. Smiley

Had a terrible feeling I had rear-ended GT thinking I had lag  Undecided and watching the replay Jubei had frozen and instantly appeared in front of him... very unlucky

Took me ages to get the times down below 1m26 and GT's setup helped me hugely ( Wink)... while Son  alien took off (after a bizarre rolling start he was 10 secs ahead right away) it left us humans to fight for best of the rest  Roll Eyes

Had great fun with TT, Navin, Lazlow & H@L  Smiley just a shame I chickened out and pitted. Got freaked out by the 'tyres worn' message on only lap 11... most likely the daftest pit-stop ever in hindsight  Embarrassed and barely recovered finishing 8th  Cheesy

Yea sorry about that wasn't quite sure what to do as Son & Jubei were sprinting around the last corner, and as I knew they were in class of there own anyway I didn't try and close the gap and decided to keep to our normally rolling start procedure and applied the pit limiter just after the last corner.

Good race for me although that Ferrari has some serious understeer issues Grin At the end of the race my front tyres were on 40 wear!!!

Grats to TT & H@L for keeping me honest, was tough trying to stay ahead of the chasing pack Cool

Shame you pitted Purdie would of been a great battle with all 4 of us together on the track maybe next time Grin

No problem Jubei, good to have you racing with us.

I believe you and Son are brothers? Please remember both of you to keep the pit speed limiter engaged until you cross the start finish line at the end of the formation lap. More details of starting procedure are here....

I couldn't join the race cause I had a soccer match yesterday evening... I hoped to come back in time for the race, but it's clear that I was too late Sad. It's a pity cause the grid was really crowded. I hope to be able to do the next one.

Cu soon guys Smiley

Good fun that race, even if I was miles off the pace. It seems I've still got plenty of practicing to do, as I've only really been competitive at Detroit in these cars. A spin on the first lap put near the back of the pack and that's where I stayed for the rest of the race. I was hoping for some attrition but it seems everyone was driving well (annoyingly so  Cheesy). Congrats to those on the podium.
