I have changed the virtual race start time from 16:00 back to 14:00

Did you do this for a special reason? I always find dusk at Le Mans a bit special  Undecided

.. still have to test which car to take..

ps. The first update (filenr=27556) seems to contain a AIW file which is overwritten by the second update (filenr=34097). Is this correct or am I missing something?

It struck me that nearly every "special" Le Mans event I've done tried to include dusk. I felt it would be nice to do one that didn't for a change. However I have no strong feelings either way so if you guys want a 16:00 start post here and I'll change it back.
I wasn't sure if about the content of the AIW files so I included both. I'll delete the first one now. Thanks for the spot Alex.
Glad I could help.
Read somewhere on NoGrip that there could be some issue with darkness and headlights so better leave it like it is methinks.

There is no fun to be had at Le Mans, so you'll remain disappointed.

So, and I'm reading between the lines here, would this mean that you cannot be persuaded to attend?  angel Wink
We can try everything  Wink... but hurry up and reserve a car...if...you know  Grin
As many probably know, I have spent many hours/years of GPL & one of the race I remember best was a 31 or 33 laps race at Le Mans in more than 2 hours.

There is a problem on some sections of the circuit where headlights/darkness cause some graphic glitches. Not enough to ruin a race but certainly distracting.

is there any way of getting the dirty versions of the 512S working? trying to go through the Hubert thread on NoGrip but it doesn't seem obvious how and I don't want to cause mismatches? the shiny 512 seems a bit too cartoony

Please Help
What do I use to "extract the *.AIW into your "Lemans70" directory and replace the old one".  What old one, my LeMans70 directory is empty, am I missing something again by not having GTR2 installed. Do I need to install LeMans70 from GTR2 first.  I'm confused of BoS. Huh

Then presumeably I add "LeMans70.gdb" and then run the SROU Install file.

The LeMans70 installer (from the link provided) should install into your GTL directory and the AIW/GBD file just needs to be copied and pasted into the track folder. I think it overwrites files or is an addition, either way its fine. There was another AIW file to install but now it is just this one as it did the same job. Nothing should be as complicated as what your worried about  Smiley

Hope that helps?

Bill, do not use any GTR2 installer. Just install the downloaded content and it should install in your GTL directory.
The directory is called lemans70.
One note of caution: my lemans70 track had a conflict with the 'new' Le Mans track (which we used heavily in the past).
I uninstalled this version first before installing the lemans70 track.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Alex so simple when you know how.  Grin

Tony should be home for this event - weather permitting.  Will nominate a car next week.

OMG, another variant as I found out at that 1st right angle corner or is it just my memory.  Last race I was involved in was P&G when I went down with bug just before Qualifying and couldn't race.

Tony, much as it grieves me in the current climate,  devil please can I book a Matra.  It's the only car I stand any chance of doing the race distance in, that's if I'm not driven mad or deaf by the engine note; (reduce sound on my car to 50% to try and reduce it).

There are quite a few changes from the PnG version we used.  Need to get some laps in and do fuel consumption test as well.

Bill, thinking about taking the Alfa 33. With Eifel taking on the 908and you in the screaming Mata,  we can turn the P3.0 category in a gentlemen drivers class, much like LMP2 nowadays  Wink

Yea should be good fun - provided I can find adequate practise time to be competitive.

The read-me in the install pack says there is no dirty style. Yes the 77 VLM version is visually superior but it's really had to be the 1970 version for this series.
