Moderator's Report

Another race with no reported incidents!! are you guys trying to make me redundant?? Keep up the good work.

In order that I can justify my immense salary as a moderator I did however watch through the race ( on fast forward 16x, for each driver) just in case there were any points that needed to be looked at.

There were several "Racing incidents" where momentary loss of control by a driver caused some exchanges of paint samples and, in one or two cases, some trips into the undergrowth, but generally there was good conduct throughout the race.

Just one point with no names.
If you are about to be lapped by a faster car it is probably best if you don't try and match his pace and attempt to stay ahead until the next straight. There was at least one, possibly 2 or 3 incidents, where a car about to be lapped lost control directly in front of one of the leading cars. As a result the faster car had to take evasive action and lost valuable time.
I know it is not easy and it constantly interrupts the race for the cars being lapped, but trying to match the pace of the car aboout to lap you is not really a good idea and will surely compromise your race and his if you go off and take the faster guy with you.

Just a note to Tim (FMG), I think your stopwatch needs a new battery! By my reckoning, and the replay timer in GPL, your pitstop was about 13-14 secs. Very noble of you to be so careful but those 3 secs might have cost you a higher position at the end of the race?

Terrible race for me. Couldn't set up the Mirage properly and had more spins and red-faced moments than I care to remember. Had a nice battle with Jason for most of the race that sadly turned sour with a couple of laps to go. That coming together demoted me from 4th to 7th and I couldn't find a way past Phil on the final lap. Some terrific defending there Phil.
A good race for me, I finished for a change albeit a lap down.  There was plenty of action the whole race long, I just kept trying to bridge the gap to the cars in front and it eventually paid off when I managed to benefit from Sam's bad luck.  The penultimate lap was a bit tricky, I had Clive closing in to lap me with Sam close on his gearbox so I had to find a place to let Clive by without being jumped by Sam.  Managed to let Clive by at the last corner but it was only the power of the Ferrari accelerating down the start/finish straight that kept Sam at bay.  The last lap was full on pressure, Sam was clearly quicker than me so I had to drive a defensive line to force him to go the long way round.  Managed to keep my position (fairly I hope although I could have given Sam a little more room at the tight left hander - turn 3) and secured some good points for Team Green.

well...

I could also complain about the Mirage, wich is in my opinion the least car I would choose for this track  Roll Eyes
I don't like this track as I hate this short 90° corners, the worst is the kink and the following right with the bump everybody knows.
But this is racing in a team! So I made the Mirage as good as possible for me...
The Mirage is pretty competitive but needs all the time 100% of concentration.
Yes it still is unforgiving for the smallest mistake, and I did some.

Start was ok, was laughing when I saw this Waza Chap storming from the grid  Grin
Then I kept position behind my well driving green teammates.
Defended my position to an upcoming Tim who had his moment after he missed the chicane in first racing lap, where I could just avoid to be taken out.
We had a big battle, as I was better out of the corners and under braking, but the speed was his strenght. Must have make him wild...  Roll Eyes
Think I have to apologize for the contact we had after the hairpin to the following lefthander, I saw the outbraking rear and had to take that chance!
Later Tim got me in a clean pass.
The rest of the race I kept wrestling my car to the finish line.

This was the hardest race I ever did! Was totally wet and needed a long shower afterwards to cool down Grin

Greetings

No problem, in retrospect your start was one of the highlights of my race!  Wink

Ok, can we all please stop mentioning it..  Badblood doesn't want to keep being reminded of his silly mistake where he went charging to the front bouncing off other cars going bewilderingly slowly, before eventually realising that his wasn't simply a staggeringly good start and had to crawl back to where he came from!  hehe  Grin

If Evil hadn't mentioned about the rolling start just before we hit the grid (he seems to be doing that in every GT race and I'm always thankful, lol), I would've made a normal start and pulled away, probably thinking the rest must've had an accident or something.  Grin

You should've dived in on the default setup if there were only 6 mins to go geoff - That's what I was left with at the start when GPL miraculously ignored the setup I'd spent all practice honing  cursing

This is also the reason for my first lap fail at the chicane - my own setup would happy bounce across the chicane 2 wheels at a time - the default mearly rotated the car as it continued on it's original course  Sad

Quite pleased with 4th considering how bad the car was to drive - but I should have been fighting the front runners based on qually pace (All done on full tanks)

Well done for soldiering on home Dave, the Mk2's horrible when it's bad - but at least you fought it all the way to the flag  thumbup1

Harsh?!?!  Shocked  I took the Mk2, so you could have the Ferrari, which you found so comfortable you took to sleeping in instead of racing for your new Team!!

Have a word with our leader as I believe Tim has some very good setups for alarm clocks  Wink

Lol - I just knew that passing more than one car off the line meant that something was wrong! The masterful way in which I worked my way to the back again in half a lap is something I usually reserve for the race proper... laugh
