Moderator's Report

66 Chassis and a nice tight set of Esses. What could go wrong?

Server replay time: 0h01m10s

Natan has gone too tight to Fulvio and gets clipped, as he recovers he drives straight back onto the racing line hitting Cookie.

The rules have this:

Blatant Side by Side contact: Penalty 2 Places

On a straight, the overtaking car moves out to overtake, maintains his line and has achieved 100% overlap but the overtaken driver moves across into him. There was no loss of control. Penalty for overtaken driver.

Although not a perfect fit. The penalty guidelines are that - guidelines and this is the best fit.

As Natan recovers he rejoins in front of half of the field forcing at least two drivers to take evasive action.

The rules have this:

Inconsiderate Bad Rejoin: Penalty 1 Places

The rejoining driver was in full control but nevertheless drove straight back onto the track without leaving enough room for other cars. Contact was NOT made but other drivers had to take avoiding action.

Lap 1 attracts a further penalty place but I have put these incidents together as they result from the same incident.

Server replay time: 0h01m18s

Aulden comes to a stop because of Natan's incident with Cookie. A surprised Bernie taps Aulden from behind and Dave Rainier has to take avoiding action. Geoff arrives a little too hot to stop and finds that the parking space between Dave and Bernie is just too slim.

Although Aulden did the sensible thing to avoid trouble, he surprised a few behind him which caused a few prangs. It would have been better if Aulden had found a way to slow in a more measured way.

Billy gets a good run on Bernie who does not see him coming. He turns in on him and comes off worse. This is marginal and Billy was unaffected but Bernie definitely needed to be more aware.

The rules have this:

In a corner, after a legitimate overtaking attempt the cars end up side by side. One driver moves over instead of staying on their own side of the track. Contact is made. Penalty for driver that moves over.

Sky gets too close to Billy and taps him from behind. Billy is not too badly affected but Sky gets past. As an overtake, this is not the recommended approach.

This is simply carelessness and misjudgement of the gap. Sky needs to take more care of the car in front here and should have ceded back the position he gained.

Server replay time: 0h01m54s

Natan follows Jonny into the hairpin and is a bit eager to get going. There is a minor collision but not a lot in it.

Server replay time: 0h02m05s

Badblood sees a chance to surprise Geoff at the hairpin and he does. Geoff turns in but has not anticipated that BB can make it stick.

Although BB achieves overlap it is so late that Geoff has no chance to avoid him.

The rules have this:

Simple Ambitious Overtake: Penalty 1 Place

The overtaking car had NOT achieved a 50% or greater overlap at the point of turn-in. There was no loss of control by either driver. Penalty for overtaking driver.

Marginal Ambitious Overtake: Warning

In a corner, the overtaking car HAD achieved a 100% or greater overlap at the point of turn-in but the driver was not in full control but WOULD have made the corner. Warning for overtaking car.

The incident falls between these two stools but in this case although the overlap has been achieved it is so late as to make a collision almost certain and therfore a penalty has been applied.

Server replay time: 0h02m33s

Aulden goes wide and is fighting to control the car. Hristo sees the open door and barges through but doesn't leave Aulden much room. Hristo is much faster here but the onus was on Hristo to make sure that pass is clean. Despite the fact that Aulden takes a slightly odd line off the corner, he was always likely to come off the corner badly as he was not fully in control and Hristo could and should have anticipated this.

The rules have this:

Simple Side by Side contact: Penalty 1 Place (+ 1 for lap one)
In a corner, after a legitimate overtaking attempt the cars end up side by side. One driver moves over instead of staying on their own side of the track. Contact is made. Penalty for driver that moves over.

Moderator's Report

Have they learnt from Race 1. Some have...

Server replay time: 0h01m08s

Natan has a go at three abreast into T1. It really isn't a good idea... He drives into Geoff who spins into Cookie. At the end of the lap Geoff takes the opportunity to show off his skills and goes backwards into the pits - literally!

The rules have this:

Simple Side by Side contact: Penalty 1 Place

On a straight, the overtaking car moves out to overtake but cuts back in too early. There was some loss of control. Penalty for overtaking driver.

Although this is not an exact fit as Natan was not trying to cut back in, he needed to maintain his line and didn't.

Server replay time: 0h01m12s

Sky is the centre of synchronised spinning with Dave and Bernie. Sky can't avoid Dave. Nobody could!

Bernie has a spin on the brakes at the hairpin and is a bit careless as he rejoins. It is very hard to see what is going on at that hairpin but Bernie should have been aware that Geoff was coming up behind.

The rules have this:

Incompetent Bad Rejoin: Warning

The rejoining driver was NOT in full control but drove straight back onto the track without leaving enough room for other cars. Contact was NOT made but other drivers had to take avoiding action.
straight back onto the track without leaving enough room for other cars. Contact was NOT made but other drivers had to take avoiding action.

Just seen replay of race 1 and noted the T1 lap 1 contact with Natan that I wasn't aware during the race cause I didn't feel anything. Sorry Natan I tried to keep well inside but lag didn't help.

OK, so how do I appeal to this? Because I never received a PM that I'm involved in an incident report, nor I even remember hitting anyone in that race!  Roll Eyes

PM to Vosblod, H. It came under Lap 1 moderation. I think that is why you didn't get notification.
