definitely a case of the tortoise and hare for me tonight... even though we have had two weeks to prepare for this race I was too busy and only practised when i joined tonight. A few tweaks to a stock setup provided by Gizmo  Wink was stable enough but on average i was about 2 secs off the pace  Roll Eyes

Starting 7th and a few laps into the race I clipped the inside wall of T1 and the steering was out a little which took a few laps to adjust too, I ended up turning the Fuel Injection down to 3 to reduce power oversteer moments on the exits....which sort of worked. I then went up the order purely through attrition, suffered two harmless spins but was just a case keeping it consistent  Smiley

Happy with 3rd and grats to top 2... very dominant performance! and to Jasper's win and Darrens 2nd  Wink

ps. sorry to Chris Dawkes for 2 incidents, thought I had more concrete to drive on round the outside of that corner but the grass made me tighten the corner too soon. Hope the contact didn't affect the handling Sad ... and also when I took the inside to Hairpin, not sure if you were surprised to see me and outbraked?

That was a real struggle last night. Too many simple mistakes, all but one due to braking. Just couldn't get any consistency and frequently out braked myself while seemingly braking at the same point each lap Sad There were a couple of really tricky places again to let the faster cars through too, that fast double left being the worst. I couldn't do those corners without feathering the throttle all on my own! Trying to let others passed there was really tough but we all got away with it Wink

Not much to say from my point of view. This is quite a tricky track in the Ford, really hard to stay consistent. That said, I somehow managed to keep it together. By not falling off (and having some luck with Darren running out of fuel) managed to cross the line in first Grin Someone was always close though, so I couldn't make any mistakes but had to keep a reasonable pace at the same time. It was hard work to say the least, lol.
LMP's were much better than at Watkins, I had no problems worth mentioning and I think it was a pretty clean race for everyone Smiley Sometimes I felt I was holding people up a bit too much but it's so hard to deviate from your line, especially in the relatively fast bits, so my apologies for that.

Overall a very demanding but satisfying race, and congrats to Rik for winning LMP2!

Well.. what can I say.   I had to quit in the end because of the sheer amount of offs I was having.

Was a bit unlucky to get tapped by Darren on first lap when he spun which slightly bent my steering (and I mean slight) I was still able to drive a decent pace so I kept going.  Mistake.

It soon became clear that my braking was badly affected, the front right locking anytime it could and I went off a few times due to locking up.  It was worse when HPD's started lapping as it was impossible for me to use the brake to adjust my line once I committed to the corner.

This caused me to go off a few more times.  I don't know why I didn't pit, at this point I was just in a cloud of red mist.  The language issuing forth from my face-hole was something to behold  Tongue

Apologies to Raimo, Who must have been laughing and swearing at me to get out of his way.    I'd spin, catch him up, pass him, then lock up, go wide, catch him up again, pass .....etc   Roll Eyes

The final straw was when I caught up to Raimo (again) going into turn one when a HPD came steaming up the inside.  I had two choices. Continue as I was into the corner and maybe swap paint, or tap the brakes, spin out and rage quit, windows icon, shut down, turn off monitor, turn off speakers, kitchen, cup of tea, steam for an hour  taz

....I chose the latter

Grats to fnishers, see ya at the next one.

wow this was hard. lol
I had way to little practise for this race. After struggling all week with backpain, I got 10 laps in at Saturday. And after family dinner on sunday, I went right into qualifying before race. So race was only about survival for me  angel
Race start was steady and managed to keep it on track in the first half off the race.
Had an enjoyable drive with Adam who passed and re-passed me a couple off times after struggling with breaks after a contact on first lap. He was about to lap me again, when we got lapped by a LMP who managed to be at the cone marker on inside T1, at exactly the same time me and Adam where there. I had just seen a flick in my mirror and by share luck I stayed 2m wide of cone so the LMP passed under us. I had closed my eyes so I couldn't see what happend to Adam(only thunderclouds in backmirror when I open them again). This was the only "moment" I had with LMP's the whole race.
Then Darren was on my tail and I managed to hold him up (sorry bout that Smiley) until I got wide at last corner.
After pitstop I was 0 seconds behind Robert, and we had a good few laps of battle until I outbrake myself into T2 and Robert got away. Some corners later he had done the same as me and got a spin, and I managed to pass him. Now Andrey was right behind and got right on my tail, but then lucky for me he had to go to pits. From there on in it was just trying to stay consistent. But still managed to outbake myself a couple of times more. Managing to not get lapped by class winner (Jasper by 65m) and then pick up 3rd place is a bit lucky, but I'll take it after all that work.
Thanks for race all, and see you next race.

Well

Was having a good race i suppose, even led for the first 9 laps or something after the other 2 span at the horrible right,
i was thinking wtf am i doing here come on Jasper stop messing about  Tongue

I think Jasper had a spin then i had one also So Jasper and Darren were now in front of me.

It was going well considering i would not do a lap round there with out the dreded slow spins the week before
Then i got a set up that worked (Not mine) and it was 97% right.

Anyway down to the last few laps and Don had a slow Grass track experience at said horrible tight right 5th is it ?
No where near the track and if he had of gone straight or left he would have hit the service road....but he was flustered which we all get
and he came right..and right back on track into my left front wheel.....Big swear words spew from my mouth  angel
My steering is half way to where it should not be.......bollox

As it happens i only lost 2 places or so.

Don very kindly looked me up on iRacing and applogiesd and also posted on here right away. (man after my own heart)

As i said to him.........Shit happens to us all, he made a mistake and so do i.

Sorted See you all and Don next race  Cool
