Hey guys,

I stumbled upon the RaceDepartment Le Mans Series (http://www.racedepartment.com/rd-iracing-le-mans-series/), they plan on doing full race length (A)LMS races when iRacing releases their driver swap feature. Now this got me very interested, is anyone planning on participating in this? Or even better, are there any plans for SROUK to do something like this?

Yes - for sure.  Obviously such an event every other week isn't really practical - but we'll definately get somethign done I'm sure.

Sweet, I've never done such lengthy races before in other sims. Most I've done so far is 2,5 hours around Spa and Daytona. Should be awesome!

Count me in Smiley

We did try this once in rFactor (way back when) but it didn't really attract anybody. I think there were 3 or 4 pairs. It was only a test but I don't think ever got followed up. Can't wait to try again.

As long as I don't get lumbered with Adam as a co-driver this will be awesome Smiley

Driver swaps is the number one feature I've been waiting for.

Doing 24 hour races in LFS was probably the most fun I've had in sim racing

It sounds on paper like a great idea and I would love it but I'm guessing you have to agree upon a setup and that's where the problem is. Given iRacing's hell bent view for faux realism I'm guessing they wouldn't think it to be very realistic if you didn't both (or more) have to drive with the same setup. And given the difference in people's setups and whether people can actually drive each other's setups it starts to taste a bit worse. We'll see, if they stuff the realism and say you can each have a setup then great or if you can find someone to team up with that likes your setup or driving style then great. Wink

There are several fixed setup series on iR they could use that as a basis. Failing that I often use your setups Shark, I'm just not as quick Wink

I don't see that as a problem.   That's part of endurance racing. That how it is in real life, finding a compromise that all the teams drivers can drive.

Yeah, I like the idea that the drivers will have to work together pre race so they are both familiar and comfortable with the set up.

I'm pretty sure this would be a big advantage for me, I can quickly adapt to being really slow with ANY setup Smiley
