You dont remember us trying out the rF champcars then?

Yes I do at Silvers IIRC? However I always found the rF ffb and physics difficult to get to grips with. I am really looking forward to what rF2 has to offer though.

Edit: just checked and it was the full blown Cart cars we used at Silvers and I couldn't drive them  laugh  The Atlantic Series cars are very different.

A few of us need to try them and then see what our opinions are I reckon.

Can't wait to try these cars out Goldtop Grin. Atlantic's had always been a great series in North America. A true drivers series.

Had a quick try with this mod last night. My first impression was that it was very sensitive and tricky, particularly on the brakes, but that was mostly because I was used to putting the pedal pretty well to the floor with the '88 cars. After a few laps though, I was noticing how much more feel and feedback there was in comparison.

That said, the reason I came here was that I found the F1 88 mod and wanted to find somewhere to race with it. But I agree that if its hard to find the right balance with it, you should try out something different. I'll certainly be there to give it a go.

The attendance has been very good by this forums standards over the last couple of years, not to mention the much higher average number of posts being made per thread. Both sure signs the two series have been a big success. Big well done from me GT. Certainly my favourite series in these parts since... probably since Mike's first PnG season, excelent work mate Cool
Very disappointed to have missed the last three races, what with holiday, mother-in-law & my shift working. Looks like a lowly 4th place finish last night would have sealed 3rd in the champs (ahead of Spanner again Grin), but I'll have to settle for a moral victory whistling

Hope Purdie/other steps up & we're able to keep going with this excelent mod.

I've asked H@L to post event details for a 40 minute test race at Brno with the Atlantics for Tuesday 20th to give us a chance to try them out.

I am a massive fan of F188 and certainly wouldn't want to rule out having another series soon. It does however take a lot of thought and planning and even then doesn't guarrantee success. Also the easy series have now been run, being parts 1 and 2 of the RL season. Anything that follows will struggle to have quite the same historic appeal, which has been a big part of it for me and others.

I'm a firm believer in trying different things and keeping it fresh. We've had 21 races with F188. Let's at least give the Atlantics a try out.
