Moderator's Report

A popular circuit for the Novices, Keimola once again provided a great race with some very close finishes, but who held their nerve to take the title overall?

Karliss looked to be heading for the Championship at one point but a wedding and a Cooper seemed to put pay to that and it was a battle between Axel and JonnyO which went down to the final race and even the final moderation where a penalty could have decided the Championship.

Either one would have been a worthy winner but it was Jonny who took it in the end.

Well done to all for a great season of racing.

Server replay time: 0h02m35s

Fabio taps Skymole who blocks the track.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h04m12s

Karliss gets alongside Norm for the 3rd time in 3 laps at Varikkokaarre but he takes a slightly tighter line than he should and suffers a small warp from Norm on the inside.

Warp Incident

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h18m48s

Du Fossa collects Skymole but the two are out of control at the time in seperate spins despite running closely.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h19m30s

Karliss again tries an overtake at Varikkokaarre only this time he is on the inside of Axel.
Karliss is much later on the brakes than Axel but is under control despite a couple of lock ups and would have made the corner.
Axel takes too tight a line after seiing Karliss disappear from his mirrors so he must be alongside.

Contested Overtake
"The overtaking car had achieved a 50% or greater overlap but not 100% or greater at the point of turn-in and both drivers were in full control."

Server replay time: 0h28m05s

Fabio railrides around EtelaKaarre, but I have only found this to be quicker on the actual track and generally the grass is slower. ;)

Disappointed that I didn't make the last race of the 65 season. Had done a couple a couple of practice sessions & was good for 1.22's (which seems about average pace) but we had a localised power cut.
Good choice of track - in fact the track selection for the whole championship was pretty good. Had some good, bad & indifferent races but good fun as always.
Congratulations to our new champion.

I hope to see you next season ...in the "PRO" championship !!??
what will you do ? stays with Novice or race with the Pro ?

3rd Karlisss (Karlis Vitols)
for me i duno... for Pros im to slow...maybe in novices cos i must master save overtakings.
also would love to do some clasics 67.. but seems its not popular here cos have complicated token system..
anyway i can do only one champ at time, cos dont have more time for simracing.. must work.
ps

You're welcome, I think you've improved a lot for the past season.  Smiley

As for tokens system, what's so complicated about it? You just see how much tokens you have and you use the cars you can afford.

thumbup2 Congratulations Jonny for the championship! thumbup2

Lost it in Oulton where I made a stupid mistake...
I am happy with my 2nd, cause there were only a few other real novices in this competition.

In Keimola my Cooper had no chance, I could do some good laps, but I am not able to keep a 100% pace the whole race.

Yeah was a great first season for me, beginning with that win at Monaco, which realy surprised me  Shocked

But I had and still have a lot to learn!
In the last race I learned how necessary it is to send your client replay with an incident report! (I didn't!)

CU next season Wink

Maybe we won't see you if we do run an intermediates league - some of us are Novices and some of us aren't...  Grin

I still have SO much to learn - I've improved by 5% or 6% and that means that I don't always get lapped and occasionally I can run with the big boys but at Keimola I can't beat 1:23 which is all the more depressing as Miniblood is in to the 1:22's here.

Sad to miss this last race but I couldn't race even though I was at home.

Big congrats to Jonny and hard luck on Cookie - you were both fantastic.

Personally, happy to be where I am in the championship with Al and Billy but next year it will be Norm (maybe).

Great season and HUGE thanks to Mike for all his hard work and great tracks. Tough act to follow.

Congratulations to JonnyO on winning the Novice championship,  Axel so close and a deserving Runner up this time round (I know what its like to come so close and look back at a previous race and go what if....), and also well done to Karliss on third spot. I still think the Novice championship is the best combination of racing and fun on offer at UKGPL and it sounds like this was another cracking season, I miss it!

That would be here.
10) Tracks
Are we happy with the current track allocations?
Are we happy with trying new tracks? (subject to checking for faults and possible testing)
Are there any tracks you would particularly like to see in Season 22? If so which mod and why?

A whole season of Monza Smiley ....... Maybe one Spa race.

In all seriousness, can we do the following at some point in the next few seasons.

Nürburgring
Clermont-Ferrand
Monza
Spa
Monaco

I will come up with a tentative track list as soon as possible but I don't want to repeat Papy tracks within a season which rulesout Monaco and Monza. Nurby and Clermont are a possibility but both in one season - you are a masochist Al...

Spa is also a possibility. The main consideration is finding tracks that I can drive so we may well have ten rounds of Mildirt... Wink

Race mod published so Championship Standings are final pending any appeals.

Well done to Jonny, Axel and Karliss who might have won it if he hadn't gone and got married.

Well done to RogUK who had a solid season in the Cooper with some great recovery drives.
