Robert misjudges both his closing speed on and the braking point of John's car and tips him into a spin instead of either passing or waiting to pass on the way out. Unfortunately this ends John's race.

Nice one Andrey, it looks like you all had a good race, bet Jasper was glad I was'nt there Embarrassed
I'll be back for Spa though Grin

I know its off topic but thought you guys would appreciate this, (feel free to move mod)I went to the 6hours at launa last sat and took a few pics (240)  the ARX is number 055 and the Aston 007 won. The porch hybrid only stopped 3 times against  the usual 5 of the others.

Hey Baz I did miss you at the race mate, but us Ford drivers managed to crash into each other without LMP help, haha Cheesy
Very nice pics btw, I was watching the race on the ALMS site and that Porsche was really fast, overtaking the GT2 cars Tongue It apparently has a KERS system powering the front wheels, making it 4 wheel drive. Clever stuff Smiley

It was a tough race for me.

Got on pole (with fair amount of luck). As race started it didn't go that smooth. I slowed a bit more than would usually in do in race for T1/L1 to avoid any potential disaster and god a good shove in the rear from Russel. Got sideways but car agreed to stay on track and kept the lead. This incident made the car feel "strange" though. Than I was successfully defending from Gary for several laps till he braked a bit late and we had a contact. (Dejavu from Suzuka Wink) Had to pit and from than my race was effectively over.

In fact both incidents are evident on Andreys's video Smiley

One word for HPD drivers. When FGT goes a bit wide before turn in and going for apex it doesn't usually mean than it's giving room. It's much safer to pass exiting the corner if you haven't managed to get alongside under braking.

All in all this race I perceived as much lower quality than Suzuka and more representative of official iRacing races. HPD's in some cases wasn't that polite and careful as they where there Smiley

 Thanks
 Ted

One word for HPD drivers. When FGT goes a bit wide before turn in and going for apex it doesn't usually mean than it's giving room. It's much safer to pass exiting the corner if you haven't managed to get alongside under braking.

It cuts both ways, though - it often makes sense for a GT to start closing the door earlier than normal when an HPD is behind to show clear intent, especially where there's only a short braking zone and the LMP2 can't simply slice by with late braking. I know it costs a little time but it tends to help set the exit pass up because the HPD can take that later apex and tuck back inside and it ends up costing both drivers relatively little time and reduces the risk tremendously. Out of the slower corners the HPD just doesn't have the grunt to punch past the GTs down a short straight - too many GT drivers won't give up half a second or a second to facilitate a pass but expect a prototype to sit behind them and lose 3-5 seconds.

The performance differences are actually quite frustrating (if realistic, judging by the ALMS races) - in GTR2 the GT1s don't get held up too much by the GT2s in the corners, but fly by them down the straights, but here the LMP2s are barely any faster top end than the GTs, but massively quicker in the faster corners, leading to a lot more frustration and confusion (and danger!).

Doh, I missed the damn start, and had to start from pit lane not only that took me 2 laps just to lap the Ford GT's then I was already 20 secs behind the nearest HPD

Had a good fight with Chris, about it really.
