Don't mean to moan (I'll start to sound like Clive ), but another Porka only round? Really? I know you don't like them eith Matt, don't feel like you have to enflict them on everyone else. MJ gets to drive a Porka in at least every other race, plus every Sunday already...

Fair comment, I thought people liked 906s. I would like to use Westwood, I am not too worried about the cars. EDIT: Ok. This series was put on to give an outing to cars that are either too fast or too slow to fit into other groupings On that theme I have changed it from 906s (that didn't really feel right here anyway) to something more in keeping with the historic track Now we have Austin Healey Mk1, different colours and 5 gears, not much fun for hot lapping, but based on similar events we have done it will make a great close race.

I mean the Mark 1 has 5 gears, instead of the annoying 4 of the MKII (Or so I thought)

Don't think I've ever raced a Healey before and how anyone drives them quickly is a complete mystery to me. I think I'd rather drive a tank and call myself Clive

Hmm, Never tried the older ones, I always use the later red one which has, cough, not 5, but 6 gears... True all the others have 4 gears. If the red one has a significant adnvantage then I will ban it ta for the info.

Think I read somewhere that all the Healeys had 4 gears but switchable overdrive on 3rd and 4th depending on year/Mk which is what PnG replicates.
I used to have a MGB GT with swichable OD on 3rd and 4th. In fact, I wish I still had it :'(

Not that I'm against using a different car here if the 906 isn't suitable but to change cars because one bloke don't like Porsches....really?! It's not a 911 its a bleeding different car and class altogether I'd rather drive a 906 than an old healey any day of the week! I reserve the right to veto any car that legz prefers at the next round

I think some American cars would have been more fun here at Westwood. Healey is a snooze fest unless on a small British track and seems out of place on a Canuck/US track

Snooze fest for practice yes, but remember all the stick I got for the Lotus 7s at Monaco and those that survived had a great race. I want something in keeping with the track I will go with a majority if there is one. I didn't feel that 906s were right anyway Legzy's comment just pushed me over the edge. If we get a few people wanting the same car we could use it. I am quite keen to give the venerable AH MK1 an outing though the race intself wil be a hoot, not many places to smash up on unlike Monaco. cars are an easy drive. Sounds like a plan for a good close race to me.

Why do people think that because a car is slow it isn't fun. In my experience the slower, easier to drive cars usually provide better closer racing than cars which are trickier to drive which tend to magnify the difference between the faster & not so fast drivers. PS: talking of slower cars, when are we gonna have some Minis?
