I have ultimate respect for anyone trying to drive a Cobra for 80 mins. That takes guts! I'd like to take it, but I'm afraid it's too good.

Its definately good for 1 lap However, I wouldn't take anything away from anyone driving the Cobra consistently around here for 80 mins for a good finish. That won't be easy at all and I don't fancy it, hence I'll be in the Healey Gentlemans Racing Club tonight

whats a fairly decent laptime around here in the gt65 class?
Im still hoping to race tonight but will not really know until late on and will prob miss praccy and qually, so may just have to join back of the grid and hope for the best as the race goes on.
I am torn between a Healey or the Daytona at the moment, i seem to be on similar pace with either with only a handful of laps under my belt here.

Yeah i'm a bit stuck on motor choice too Mark...would love to destroy some tires in the Cobra but as that will almost certainly end in disaster, I thought the Alpine might be the key to securing some much needed points for my green amigos and I. Unfortunately I only managed 2:02 after a few praccy laps. There's definitely more in it as it was a scrappy drive on my part but i'm sure it will struggle around here regardless.
Never been a particular fan but the Elan looks like it might be good little workhorse for the evening. Any thoughts on the E-type - is it competitive?

Had a few laps in the Healey only managing 2.02s so think it has to be the Elan for me, down to 1.56.299 at the moment.

B'ah the elans should be banned from this class, they are the easy-win option Quick enough and far too nimble for most of the other cars in this group. Everytime we allow them, half the grid seems to pick them and run up front. They are the 'Alfas' of GT65 Grumble grumble ....

The Elan is probably the one to have but it's a bit unfair to slate them. This is just a track that particularly suits them, flowing mid speed corners. On faster or slower tracks they get mullered by Cobras. Still think the Cobra wil be the quickest, just hard to drive consistently. Tried the Daytona last night and it was a real wallowy handful, much work on setup needed, 1:59s there, when I could keep it on track that is. Suspect it will run at the same pace as the e-types and even Healeys, weight is a big determiner here.

mmm, well a practice with the Cobra and a few setup tweaks to give something more consistent gets me 1:55 - 1:56 I'm gonna stick with it even if the rear tyre wear makes life interesting at the end of the stint!
