It did come across as sarcastic to me and I apologise unreservedly if it wasn't meant that way. Sorry JR. Just standing up for the Elan drivers really Think they are big enough and ugly enough to stand up for themselves now.

cor blimey, lighten up people, its bad enough arguing with the missus without encountering it here too I'm more than happy to see Elans in the mix, its no supercar, just find it a little disheartening when loads of people jump in one for a cheaper shot at points, as seems to happen whenever its available. I guess cos its easier to drive and yet very competitive ? ps..good news gents, i got us a fix for the cadwell park garages. Its posted under GTL section

I'm chuffed and will be for days, just cool to get some points on that flippin' board at last! For us mere mortals, 80 mins of concentration and a pitstop is a challenge regardless of car choice, but as its exactly that, a choice, I think it was a good move. If anything it levelled things a little, if you've got a tendency to be a bit pants, there was an option to give you a chance to fight with those who were a bit more confident and fancied something more lively. Lots of fun was had and next week it'll be a Falcon for me so there's plenty of time to enjoy the chaos caused by fishtailing amatuers then!

Sorry for my little outburst last night, I was really hacked off with myself. Its bad enough making one or two mistakes & ruining your own race, but when I took other people off too I was starting to lose interest. You then become very wary of trying to overtake anyone in case you run into them. I made an early pitstop in the hope of having a clear track to race on for a few laps but immediately I came out of the pits I got a serious bout of lag & went off track twice which just about capped things off & I quit.
Thanks for the kind words Ginsters & Steve, I will give next weeks race some consideration.

Hope you do Geoffers. By the way - I like the Elan. (Sorry Ginsters) Although last night's race didn't have the lighting atmosphere of Nurby, I really enjoyed the pitstops. The Daytona's tyres were fairly tired prior to the stop, but it was fantastic when I came out and the tyres warmed up and stuck like limpets, really gave me renewed confidence. Until the disco. Not being a regular pitstopper, that was a great feeling, noticing such a contrast. Also waiting to see how your pitstop and fast laps have panned out compared to your rivals is exciting. They're exhausting, these enduros, but they provide great enjoyment.

See you next week Geoffers Admittedly I've not helped but can we put the Elan debate to bed now please. I think both side have made their points well now. Let battle commence again after Goodwood when the GT40 drivers may well get some stick from the Elan chaps

I can't remeber who said it about the pitstops, but I think he was right. I approached my pitdude very slowly (I even came to a halt too early ), and while I was rolling towards him, I already got the notepad. I wasn't even standing completely still and I already got the options. Worth a try if you're having problems with the stops, and maybe worth to put this "tip" into the first post.

I took the Elan 'cos I was 2 seconds per lap faster in it than the others - and I still couldn't stay with the front runners. As Oily says, over 80 minutes you can drive it with confidence and know you will make it to the end. On the subject of Mr Oily - great racing and very fair of you to wait after our coming together. You had the edge on me, and I couldn't see me holding you off till the end. These enduros have been a revelation - great choice of cars and good racing throughout the field.

Hello Purds, where have you been hiding? Not seen you around these parts for a while. Suppose youve been driving those silly real racing cars GTL Endurance is great. My only request on behalf of the hitched folks is please spread them out a little through the normal GTL season. We cant justify losing the 'entire' evening on a regular basis. It carries a lot more weight when you can say 'they are only every few weeks'. In my own case, i only get home in time to have some dinner (which she cooks naturally ) then have to say goodnight cos she wont see me before 10.20 ish ! Only a request obviously, if it sticks to current pattern i will just have to miss several rounds :'( ...or offer my crown jewels up as a sacrifice !

My Missus repays me by drinking my best single malt whilst I'm driving.
