PS I thought you were going to carry on with GTL Jeff?
A shame if that's it as although we may not have seen eye to eye on some occacions, the racing was always hard and fast!

Nope, this is my last week racing, as I'll be leaving to Oxford Aviation next thursday. Can't bring my wheel with Grin, which might be better in any case, as I need to focus on my study Grin.

On a personal level, can I just say its a been a pleasure racing (well we shared the same track  Wink) you JR. Not a great way to end for sure but I'm sure the good has far outweighed the bad. Good luck to you.

Thanks, also enjoyed racing you Smiley.

Manic race for the most part. Really close and good fun between JR and I until we got baulked a few times - shame you also got the C/T's otherwise I assume you would have carried on and that would have been interesting!

After that I was still trying to put in fast laps to keep my concentration up. Got a couple of warning on the last few laps where I wasn't taking T1 right but other than that I didn't find it over-sensitve tbh

Good luck with your flight studies Jeff - keep us posted as to how its going on. If you have a spare weekend I can come and visit you coz Oxford is only about an hour away from Salisbury Wink

We can go watch some motor racing or do some karting!! See how good you REALLY are ;p

Sounds cool Cheesy. Will be very busy months for me, but a spare weekend must be possible Grin.
I'm usually quite competitive with karting (worked at an internation track for 6 years Smiley ), but I'm carrying my very own ballast  Roll Eyes (90kg).

How come Bara gets the trackrecords, because I quit?
He was in GTC but not sure why the TC lap is not up there. We'll get our best man onto it.

We couldn't get a best man so I'll have to do.

Baracus holds the TC-65 track record in a GTA, set in a previous race. All track records for the sim are shown before the event, but only those set during the event are shown once the results are in.

Ouch. What a terrible return to GTL after a long brake. Seems the Abarth was too much for me to handle.  Sad

That chicane got me twice or three times. Was too late in rebalancing/turning the car to the right again and slammed into the wall there. No cut warnings for that, at least. But it is silly it gives you a cut track when you mess it up just a little, go wide and onto the gravel/grass, which is guaranteed to be slower then a proper line. I'm pretty sure at one point I was sliding, fishtailing out of it, had both my front wheels on the tarmac, but rear wheels on the curbing, perhaps the edge of it, and still a cut track warning.

So I got a Stop/Go. Unfortunately I came out just ahead of a group of cars. Too late I realized I had no hope of reaching T1 before them, so I tried giving the left side to those guys, but I guess I was too slow, as MJ went wide and out of T1. Not long after I had a ridiculous spin right in front of people, so I pressed esc in hopes of avoiding a collision. Don't know if it worked. Very sorry to those involved. Quit in shame.

At least I didn't run Psuedo off track. Phew.

Knockhill is a brilliant track for GTL racing. Thats several times ive raced there having had some good races with the GBGTL crowd and it always delivers a corker.  Cool
The cut warnings are a bit daft at some places (like T1), i managed to pick up two warnings last night and both from avoiding cars that had either pulled out in front of me at the pit exit or lost control in front of me  Roll Eyes  Perhaps one of our track gurus could edit it slightly ?
There were some selfish pit exits by some last night, diving out in front of cars on a flyer. I had to abort several qually laps from people doing that  Sad Its not hard, you just put labels on, flick to reverse view and then you know its clear as you head down pit exit ! So no excuse really.
Race of two halves for me. Qualied a lowly 14th from lack of praccy and using the elite for only 2nd time ever. But the car felt great on this track, i really enjoy driving it, especially with the soundpack installed  Cool
For first 15 minutes i was stuck in loads of traffic and losing a lot of time behind cars fighting it out, side by side and enjoying some good scraps myself. Saw some of the usual clumsy handling at some corners but nothing too outrageous, and gradually picked my way through the aggro to find some clear track.
Thats when the 2nd half of my race came into its own and i was able to close on guys ahead at several seconds a lap and started enjoying myself as i caught and passed a few cars to get onto the heels of SBG and the front pack. I was taking time out of his lead in the dying minutes of the race and closed an 11 sec lead down to about 4-5 but then the race finished.
Great fun, really enjoyed it and the cars seemed evenly matched.
Congrats to the podium guys and unlucky to JR, who looked like him and Baracus were having a great side by side race-long battle.

Mark, I thought you were a bit laggy last night. Several times when we were close you disappeared then reappeared and also you were quite juddery. Don't know what you can do about it. Just thought you should know.

ah, i think i know what that was. After the race i realised i had left my flipping u-torrent downloader open  Embarrassed  A big mistake, so sorry for that. Im amazed i didnt disco with that thing open. Huh
I did notice other cars getting laggy at the final corner and also around turn 2/3 cars would disapear, then re-appear 50m further down the road  Shocked
But it only happened a few times during the race.

Sorry this is your last race Jeff, didn't realise that.   Sad  I've had some great scraps attempting vainly to get past your fishtailing V8 near race end, never managed it.  Always enjoyable though.  Hope you pop in sometimes so I can try and fail again.   Wink

Good result for me, definitely a triumph of playing the percentages over raw pace.  My race pace was at least much better in comparison to others than my qually pace. Had one cut warning early on when I entered T1 badly, but other than that I took an extremely cautious approach that paid off, no errors at all, no other warnings.  Managed to sneak through past PR, Madd and then Mike when they ran wide at the chicane in the first couple of laps, and then just ran safely and consistently in 3rd until Jeff's bad luck and a lucky 2nd for me.

Great track, the Abarth was quite tricky here, although quick.  Had to get lined up for the chicane 30-40 yards before the kerb, any last minute correction seemed to send the back end swinging round.

My experience of the driving was very good last night, everyone was pretty considerate when I came round to lap, no issues there.  So thanks for that.

Congrats to Baracus for the win and respect to PR for lugging that Sofa round so quickly.   Grin

Quite enjoyed that race even though I'm not a great fan of the GTL Knockhill. Had some good battles during the race with many different people but also managed to get 2 S/Gs & only just avoided getting lapped by the flying Baracus for the 3rd time!

Apologies to Wiltshire Tony, I nudged you into a spin at the chicane late in the race. Misjudged the speed of the Mk2  Angry through there.

Congrats to the podium, cya all next time.

Yeah I know. It's kinda the done thing to wait for the victim to recover and to let them take the position back. Nuff said. Lips Sealed
