hey if i join do you take the average of 11 points per race and deduct is for each of the races that have past?

ie. I start now with say 5 x 11 tokens off my total?

ps. i'm very slow in classic cars  Roll Eyes Cheesy

  • If you fail to score a point in a race (or attend at all), you will still lose your average number of Tokens*
So if I decide to be prudent and take the TR4 (1 Token) but I am too slow to score any points it will cost me 8 (56/7) Tokens?

Well spotted & yes you understand perfectly. (Your maths is also spot on, unlike MJ's Wink).

The maximum grid size is 28 & there are points available for 24 drivers, so potentially four attendies could be charged their "average number of Tokens". There are all kinds of potential benefits from having that rule. Starting with people taking more care on the first lap & also people being more sensible with their token spending Shocked Wink & others too.

p.s. I'm expecting to be on the server for some P&G Daytona practice after the GTL race finishes tonight (9:40pm+) if anybody is up for it?

Hi Andy, will be good if you're able to join us.
I'll unofficially pop you on '63 Tokens' for the remaining season for now & we'll see how you go in your first race.
After your first race I may be able to give you more (or less) tokens.

I think this token system will work really well and will add a nice tactical edge to proceedings. Of course, the token allocation will inevitably need to be tweaked but the system should even out the field. Having said that, I still think that the best driver will quite rightly win. It will be interesting to see how the aliens approach this; how to choose the most appropriate car for the track with a very limited budget so that it's *just* enough to win Smiley

As we're at Daytona, I'm splashing out on the grunt of a Cobra 427 and so far with race fuel, have managed a 2.05. Probably a bit more to go on that yet as it's a bit tricky on the in-section part of the track.

I totally agree. I think you've done a good round up of how it should pan out Cool. Though the guys with more tokens need to take car  not to overspend & leave themselves short for the remaining races in the same way Evil

As a fellow mid-pack driver... nice car choice. I don't have any times to give yet, but I'm planning on checking out the Daytona & Cobra 427 first tonight. I'm certainly not expecting to see too many Alfa's or Elan's lining up for this race  Cheesy

Well it certainly seems like everyone is quite excited/positive about Tokens, so well done to Paul who's idea it was.
Not sure the high-speed Daytona is the ideal debut for it, but it'll do for our first go & we should learn from it. Smiley

Chris, it doesn't really make sense to charge people the average if they don't score a point. It should only be if they don't start the race.

Roll Eyes do you really think i bothered to do any sums and pick exact car tokens worth to make the statement?  'Anal loser award' goes to Paul and Legz for bothering to comment on the maths   laugh

Though both of you are top chaps really  Wink

'Think' i will stick to the TransAm stang for this one, the circuit doesnt float my boat that much apart from the iconic banking part.

For anyone that hasn't seen it yet... at the top right of this window there is a "P1" link under the list of current series' (next to 'recent' & 'forthcoming' races). If you click on that "P1" you'll be able to see which tracks we're racing for the rest of the series & how people are doing so far Smiley

I Totally agree with you Paul... It's seems a double penalty... If I don't score any points in a race cause of a slower choice, I' ve just lost a race. If you cut me 7 points it would be difficult to have some different strategies during the subsequent races.
I think that's right to cut the average amount if somone not attend the race. But if I want to save some tokens for mine strategic choice it's not necessary cut me 7 points in my case... That would penalize all strategies about the people that got less tokens, eliminating all the chances of different strategies in every race. That's my opinion... is it rubbish?!?!
