Password: see aboveWelcome to round 5 of the Skoda 130RS Trophy! For round 5 we make a visit to Latvia and the Bikernieki circuit of speed - we last drove this in the Formula Easters so expect a VERY different experience As mentioned in the announcement for the series we have no mandatory tire/fuel stop, but the tire wear has been set at 130% so you may or may not need tires... Timings:Practice: 19:30 (45 mins) Qualifying: 20:15 (15 mins) Race: 20:30 (27 Laps) Cars allowed: Skoda 130RSSkin Pack: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kp1n9c9yt68yyih/Skoda%20skins.rar?dl=0Inside the pack you will find 5 folders - these need to be placed into "*Your steam library*steamappscommonassettocorsacontentcarstmm_skoda_130rsskins" I also recommend you install the big skin pack from the 1st post in the announcement thread - I may have selected some of those cars when setting up the server (It's nearly impossible to tell which are which in the server software). If you see any white cars this will be your problem. Track: Bikerneiki
Live Timing: stracker.simracing.org.uk:50041/lapstat
Time of Day Setting: 14:00 Weather: Light Clouds Start: Standing Tyre wear: 130% Fuel consumption: normal
Server track settings: SESSION_START=98 RANDOMNESS=2 LAP_GAIN=20 SESSION_TRANSFER=80
Damage: 70%

Erf, I read that as a generic description instead of the actual name of the layout sorry. And then yes I thought I might get the information in the server indeed. Nonetheless, that could be usefull imo if we could have the exact layouts for each track in the announcement thread as soon as the series is officially set up.

I gave up on that idea ages ago - most people don't even bother practising until the day before the race anyway. Knowing what track they're on 2 months in advance won't make a difference On a serious note - unless you're hoping to practice more than a week in advance you should really do it on the server to ensure you have the conditions correct. Tire wear of 130% cannot be replicated offline as it simply isn't an option. You can obviously set the other settings to match how I've set it up but I've always found that you need to make your setup online, it also saves you some serious issues when the organiser has messed up and used the wrong name for the track they're running (I've seen that a few times, possibly guilty of it too....).

Good to hear Bob. When my Dad had his knees done they hurt like hell for a week or 2 but a month or so down the line he was as good as new. So now he's back to walking around with the dogs again and is MUCH happier. I'll remove you from the skins list (as you'll pick up a string DNFs otherwise) so if you're back before the series ends make sure to give me a heads up

Snap - If you've come from a 10xx series like me the difference is phenomenal. Light sourcing etc is immeasurably better

After two races with no practice, I said let's stop a week and do some practice on this car to get the grip of it. Also after one year of no sim-racing it was better to start from scratch. And it seems to pay off it was a decent session finally. Qualy was tricky because until the last 2 min I couldn't have a clean lap due to some yellow flags and traffic. The race start was good, I managed to pass Fabri and get alongside Maxime but he had the inside on the first hairpin. My exit wasn't great so Fabri come back and we were side by side in the strait, at the "formula easter death corner" (the one with the wall inside) I backed off because I knew there was no space for two cars. I pushed and kept Fabri under pressure, I think a had a better exit from the fast chicane before the initial strait because I passed him quite fast there. After that I passed Maxime after he touched at the hairpin, I tried to push to stay in front but a mistake at the Slimnica corner cost me the position, after that I lost concentration and made a few more mistakes that put me far from Maxime but with still good dap from cars behind. I then tried to save some tyres and fuel until at about lap 17 I saw a yellow and Maxime near again. I tried to push but I was becoming worried about the fuel, I decided to stay a bit conservative and just keep pressure to see if I could take advantage of a mistake. He was perfect so after that it was just a matter of saving fuel. I saw Fabri gaining back behind but I knew I had the gap so I then cruised easy until the checkered flag. Nice race!

Does anyone have the replay of the race? I forgot to extend the save time after reinstalling the game...
