Should be a min 30 second time penalty for missing a pit stop imo (or whatever an average stop takes) but Pete will need to clarify how we enforce it, ie alter your finishing position once time penalty added or make offender start 30+ secs from the pit lane in follow on race. That should Deter!
IMO the penalty should be a lot higher than the average stop, or else it is not really a penalty. Not a fan of penalizing the next race.

With pit in & out time + the actual work, a stop with no damage repairs must have been the best part of a minute. I lead for all of about a lap before my stop with Jeffers passing me just before I pitted - he was 40 seconds or more down the road once I rejoined I'm in favour of penalties being enforced in the races in question. I would also welcome a harsh time penalty over an exclusion for perpetrators - We run an exclusion rule in UKGPL and I can assure you it's not pleasant being excluded from a hard fought podium due to honest forgetfulness!

just back from sunny Italy and I have to put my executioners hat on Yes your quite right about the penalty needing to be more than a normal stop I suppose. Linus was good enough to own up but we did put enough notice up that there would be a pitstop required. I'm literally still unpacking so may take a while to find time to check out the laptimes etc. from Monza. I cant let it slide as not fair to those that finished behind him (or anyone else who didn't pit) with such a time discrepancy, sorry.

I guess its a decision for the moderating team. Personally I think it's an automatic DQ as nothing else is relevant. I know its not nice but it is fair.

Considering I am the person in question I'll be honest, I think there should really only be two options. Either a DQ or a penalty for the next race. I imagine a penalty for the next race might be harder to manage (unless you enforce some kind of stop and go) so my opinion is a DQ is probably the easiest and best option.

well I was considering hitting you with a 1minute penalty, as it was the first endurance on here for a long while and I wasn't here to remind everyone at race start and you were honest about it afterwards. That would put you back in 10th I think but not had time to have a proper look. I don't think there was any scullduggery involved so a DQ would be pretty harsh. But any future events would be penalised more firmly, for anyone. I note there is a new version of the pitconfig app out too, (1.7.3) might be worth getting hold of.

DQ to harsh imo. A time penalty longer than a severe pitstop but how that is worked out ? For future races increase the fuel usage rate so all cars must pit. Pit config is great for me as playing around with a mouse and keyboard during a race really slows the whole procedure.

From the official RULES and penalty guidelines... Failure to take mandtory pit stop: Exclusion Where the moderator is satisfied that the failure was accidental, this may be issued without associated penalty points.
IMHO this means you should do what the rules say otherwise what's the point in the rules.

Or like F1 we make another rule up that deals with the specific issue but makes it far more complicated to police and penalise!

If it were F1 we might have to remind people that they need to turn the steering wheel to get around the corner after dive bombing someone else.

I guess if you do think a DQ is too harsh (happy with whatever decision is made) then I guess, starting from the back at the next race could be an option. If that's not strong enough then maybe imposing a drive through in the race also would enhance the penalty further. (I love how I am discussing the severity of my penalty. Maybe I should just be put on the naughty step with no tea ) Not sure if anyone else missed doing the pitstop. I can check as I have the replay if you want.

I had a look through the lap times for everyone, everyone else had a very slow lap (losing 30+ secs) around the middle of the race except you Now they may have fallen off and lost lots and lots of time but 30+ secs is serious off.

No need to overthink it. I'll look again tonight but think the minute penalty is enough, if not then it'll be a dq if required. Pete already checked others laptimes so we know your the only culprit This series has had a good vibe and pretty respectful driving so far so no need for anything drastic.

Yep, just went through the replay and it does appear I am the only muppet who forgot to do the pitstop Either way, rules are rules so happy with whatever ruling, be it a minute penalty or a DQ.
