I tell you what, it's great having lots of team mates but my days does it create more nervous moments during races (not that I'd be more interested in hitting non Prodigy people you understand
).
Spent the opening laps tucked up behind Dyno who was putting plenty of pressure on Lazlow. Even with Ross's vastly improved Capri setup (thanks for that!!) I wasn't actually fast enough to make a safe move so tried to keep close and hoped to keep up the pressure and follow my team mate through when he made his. That would have been fine but for PR and Sam hot on my heels making things all complicated
Eventually, after quite a few fast laps running in close proximity I think Lazlow ran a little wide leaving the door open for Dyno who went diving through with me just about in tow. I tried to make the most of the teeniest gap on the inside of the right hander before the long straight which leads into the last corner. We were practically touching and in a synchronised power slide on that exit if I remember correctly, excellent stuff.
Anyway said teeny gap turned into side by side action down the straight and so I had to feel a little sympathy when Lazlow had nowhere to go but full chat into Dan's unsighted stationary Pantera. No idea how I wasn't collected in the carnage but I feel pretty lucky, looking back after, all I could see was Lazlow embarking on a space exploration mission high above the ground and various other cars including teamie Dyno in a spin in the middle of the track.
Had a good little tussle with Geoffers, really a shame that couldn't have gone on longer mate but you clearly got caught out by the bit that'd been worrying me in practice - the exit from the first chicane. Almost M1A style in the way it seems super slippery and almost impossible to hold the rear once it gets out of shape on one particular part of the track.
From there just drove it home listening on TS to Ross and Tony mixing it up with a hint of Legzy
Really good finishes chaps, shame Spanner and Tibs couldn't have had better luck - next time lads.
Grats podium people, not a hope of catching ya - some of the lap times going in these days are just ridiculous.
