REPLI-race presents a recreation of the 1976 World Sportscar Championship.
Eagerly awaited, the World Championship for silhouette* cars, was to replace the Sportscar championship (that was the intention) which had been in steady decline since the early 70's. But at the time of the conception, it was 1973 - before the oil crisis.
Ford had lost interest in the meantime, BMW's intended supercar was far from ready and only Porsche had worked steadily. In the end, they were the only ones with a competitive car; BMW had cars which were outdated really; and their turbocar was fast but very fragile.
Using the tracks and cars of the period, this seven race series provides you with the means to recreate history.
* Silhouette rule was that the cars should visually resemble their road going counterpart when viewed from the front.
