Driver lists can be found on the championship standings pageWelcome to Round 8 of the DTM season. This will be held on the 'short 2' variant of Hockenheim in order to replicate many DTM events of the past. Ballast will be applied to the following drivers as follows: +20Kgs = Manteos +15Kgs = FMG +10Kgs = Fabri + 5Kgs = Maxime The 'Short 2' variants is a fast but short lap around Hockenheim's infield - it was picked over the alternate variant purely because it doesn't feature the clumsy chicane when re-joining the main track. When joining the server please ensure you select the correct car. pleb question: ABS, yay or nay ?
with it on I can feel the brake pulsing on/off quite hard (and worse, slowly, so it seems quite primitive compared to modern systems), especially if the F/R balance is bad

ABS in the Merc is much worse/slower than no ABS. In my experience it will only work properly once and is then next to useless It's pretty good in the BMW and very good in the Ford (as I don't think they modelled in any factors beyond ABS:Y/N in that). I'm convinced the Merc and BM simulate heat build up in the system which is why they both get worse if you over trigger them.

Thanks Tim I'll use that to explain my being tortoise like last time out Yesterday I also found a bad setting on my wheel software which explains some other problems I had with feeling the car - now AC is much more like it used to be many moons ago, so perhaps I can make some progress and find that missing speed (or maybe I just got old and slow )...

I am very sorry Syd for spoiling your race. Got severely distracted just before braking point and tried to miss you both. Had to leave mid-race.
My apologies once more.

Yet again, my teammate's setup (or his cats') was a masterpiece and, despite the lack of practice, I was soon matching pace for the top of the leaderboard. Video of the qualy here: https://youtu.be/4Hpsu0JDK1MQualy started well. Following Tim on the outlap, I went for Softs (quite tricky on the Sierra) and delivered a low 1:08's which should grant a place on the first two lines in the grid. Maxime didn't took long to improve it and, to our surprise (considering practice times), Matteo put together a great lap relegating me to 3rd in the grid. Softs were heating up too quickly so I got a couple of times into pit to start afresh. In the final stint and with 5 mins left, I came out after Matteo and we did a couple of very fast laps and I grabbed a fantastic pole (SB time in this track with the DTMs ). Not a bad way of returning after missing Mine. Race 1 video here: https://youtu.be/2bR2bdqgcv0Starting the race, Matteo and his Alfa's AWD blasted into P1, closely followed by me (and Maxime in 3rd). And with that move, the hostilities started. The Sierra's were doing very well in this track and Matteo perhaps was feeling the pressure at the end of the 2nd lap, making a couple of small mistakes in the final turns that allowed me to overtake. He immediately inverted terms and pushed hard in the first turns of the following lap but I managed to keep composure and sort of secured P1 from his attacks... Until Maxime went through and began the hostilities within the team If it wasn't easy to follow my car on this track (Maxime's ditto) it was even more difficult being followed by him. He mounted a brutal attack until the end of the race reaching the climax in the hairpin before the final right turns on the final lap... Thank goodness we didn't lose the cars and kept a great P1&P2 in the race... The very intense race 1 and a tiring last few days outside the track took a toll on the second race and, despite a great start and lead for most of the race, I could only finish in P2 after the tremendous drive from Maxime. We are making a great team (The Sierra boys XD ) with the Ford. Video of the first race here: https://youtu.be/2bR2bdqgcv0

I should have them. Do you need both or just one? I can upload them later when back to the rig. Jos

My replay https://drive.google.com/file/d/1v6o5-LFdscL05Fu0ZZXi0HfU36dPyG5F/view?usp=sharingPure fun in both races! I have the regret of not being able to put more than 20 horrible laps before the race, so my defense was like a "wall of butter" This was surely the "Land of Sierra", so after they were ahead of me the only chance was that of watching the hostilities going on until the end of the race. Jos' brutal defence against Maxime at some point let me in 2nd position again. But Maxime was in a Clubber Lang racing mood yesterday, so my wall of butter melted almost immediately Sweating like a fountain I started race 2, without being able to pass both Sierras before T1 this time. However I tried my best to defend from Maxime until we had a contact at the braking of the bend "Sachs kurve". After watching the replay I'm sure that you did the right thing waiting for me, cause your left side wasn't absolutely free and you turned on me. However, as I said yesterday I appreciated a lot your patience It was well rewarded with a superb comeback on Jos, that was drinking a daiquiri dancing with the maracas in his hands all alone in front with the victory in his pocket It was a pity when Tim's car spun halfway through the race, as I was gaining something and a good duel would have probably started soon. After your mistake I paraded a bit with my fellow MAlfioso Fabri until the checkered flag, even if he was trying to put me some pressure with his usual "game of lights" flashing me during the lap . It was almost working after a couple of races like this! Well done to the Sierra boys! See you for the next

Qualif : I was quite happy with my laptime and needed to preserve my left arm for the races so kept the rest of the time watching. R1 : It was a tough one. Matteo had easily taken the best at the start, then it was a sandwich party between Jos and Matteo for most of the time. Very uncomfortable to stay in such a situation. ^^ At a time I thought I could open a door at T2 with a bit of luck but Jos told and he was true that I was a bit over-optimistic. Matteo took the opportunity to retake the 2nd position. Unfortunately he did a mistake later at T4 and I was back to later chase Jos. Couldn't find a way to pass my teammate and we got a couple of scary moments near the end of the race but at that time it was a tad less dangerous as we had created a bit of gap. Probably Matteo was starting to suffer from his tyres. R2 : Sorry Matteo for the contact, I wasn't expecting you to have a front wheel at the high of my rear ones once my braking point was reached. Then It's mostly a problem of lines : mine is using quite some trail braking at this T6, so that my braking line goes toward the apex since my braking point. Really sorry, unfortunately it cost you a bit of time, enough for Tim to grasp the opportunity. I didn't want to wait for you in the esses, so waited to be into the S/F line to back up. After that I thought my race was nearly finished, but Ford's God asked me to quit. I was happy to recover the 2nd position after two overtakes on Matteo and Tim (sorry Tim for our slight contact at T4 but it looks to me on the replay that you had the needed room at the apex, hoping you feel the same), and then realised I might even give Jos a bit of worries once again. At a time I dived at T2 in a quite brave move and got P1. Jos, I think you posted the same vid twice. Congrats for your great win and P2, and to Matteo of course for his brave Ford-fighting ! Thank you all for racing.
