Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 38s

Blunder thinks it's a rolling start and completely fails to move at the start for over 5 seconds, causing chaos as other cars have to brake and swerve to avoid him.

Server replay time: 45s

As the start goes, Mike Hammer spins across the track right into the path of Jebstone Boppman. Jebstone has nowhere to go and crashes into Mike.

This is a dangerous place to spin, at the front at the start of a race, and should be avoided.

  • Mike Hammerpenalty — Self spin with contact — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 49s

Just as the field is leaving start Mike Hammer spins. He's then waiting at one side of the track. Then as Tibernius is approaching him, he just rams into Mikes parked car.

  • Tiberniuspenalty — Lack of care approaching an incident — 3 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 205s

Morten is looking at the inside of MJ, locks a wheel and makes slight contact before backing off. Mike Hammer runs into the back of him as a result. Mike then gets tagged himself by Mr BMW.

Mike is a quick driver but spun under his own steam during the start and then failed to take account of being at the back of the pack when estimating safety margins.

  • Mike Hammercaution — contact with Morten
  • MortenS (Morten)caution — contact with Marc Jonzo
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded
  • Mr.BMW (Jebstone Boppman)caution — contact with Mike Hammer
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 1520s

Madd-RIP has just passed PRibeiro and is closing fast on Ruskus. As they approach the 3rd to last turn, Madd-RIP brakes late and touches Ruskus' rear, forcing Ruskus off the track. Madd-RIP spins, and PRibeiro passes both for the lead.

This should be avoided as Madd is closing this fast he would have had plenty of opportunities to pass later. However I choose to see this as simply missing his braking zone.

  • Madd-RIPpenalty — Rear-ending — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 2100s

Tibernius spins in turn 1, in the middle of the ideal racing line. He then spins the car around ending up outside the racing line, but still on the track. Then he's slowly driving down into the racing line just infront of Baracus.

Try to get up to speed and check mirrors before getting back into the traffic. If' you'd just kept your car in the outside throught this turn, the rest of the traffic would have time to adapt to your speed.

  • Tiberniuspenalty — Bad Rejoin — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 2213s

After passing Tibernius, Madd-RIP misses braking and gois off the track. He then rejoins behind Tibernius, as they are closing the last turn. In the final turn Tibernius slows down, as he thinks Madd is passing him on the outside, which he is not. Madd is trying the use Tibernius' draft. So when tibernius is slowing Madd has nowhere to go but straight into Tibernius' rear end.

Never do unexpected things like this when a car is as close as this. I can't believe you didn't see him in your mirrors, but if you don't, don't do anything untill you're sure where the drivers around you are. You could also flash your lights to let him know to pass you.

  • Tiberniuspenalty — Dangerous behavior — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

This track is pretty technical, with lots of nasty corners. 911 for me i think...
need some practice for this one as never raced here before?

First, any moderators/admins feel free to delete any off-topic posts by me, I tend to wander off and I'd forgotten which section of the forum I was in.

Second, does anyone (other than Ruskus Grin) have a lap time for Interlagos? I'm trying to predict how many times I'll be lapped!

I've tried all of the cars at Interlagos, and I've decided which one I'm going to use.
Your reaction to this will probably be:  Roll Eyes lol nono but: I'm going to drive the Porsche 906. It's the only car I feel I can control at high speed.

Best lap time so far: 1:54.3

The 906 is notorious for biting under braking. Best is still Capri or Vette.

Tried the Capri, alright but I can't control it properly.
'69 Corvette: Can't control it at all.
911: Handles well but very unpredictable.

I noticed about the brakes, I had to shift the brake balance but it seems better now.

The 906 is not bad to drive, I find it one of the easyest myself. But considering the Capri is faster, I've found that it easyer to drive better laps in this. But the 906 is not too slow either, so go with what you feel comportable driving Tibernius.

That's why I'm going to drive one. I feel that if I drive any of the others I'll either be spinning to much or have no control over the car, and I don't want to end up crashing in to someone.

Does anyone have a setup for the 906?

A question for the moderators: What are the rules about cutting the pit entrance? You can gain a few hundredths by cutting it, but is it allowed?

It's not cutting, it's part of the track.

However, seeing how close you come to smacking the pit wall head on, if you collide with the pit wall you will be severely frowned upon for a) being such a numpty, b) driving in a knowingly dangerous manner. This is the fastest part of the track so you are risking causing a big pile-up if you hit the wall.

Nobody has mentioned yet the question of fuel.  According to my 906 setup, I should only get 20 laps.  Roll Eyes  I guess with such a fast track we use more fuel and 40 mins approx is a looong way to go.  Shocked

Re the 906 tendency to lockup under heavy braking, I find it is a problem of changing down too early and locking up the transmission - wait for it.  oops
