Felix' tip about downshifting helped a lot as I was faster but more importantly, a lot more consistent and confident. Finished with an orange gearbox tho, so I'm glad it didn't last a lot longer . My starting position was right on the gearbox of Fabri, so I had to hope he had a good start, or else I simply had nowhere to go, but we all managed to get away quite equally. Got a good run out of T1 on FMG, but got squeezed off track which luckily didn't cost me too much. Corner later I had another run on him, but Matteo wanted to help me with my setup, but the sudden increase of ride height at the rear of 1 metre kinda upset my car and I was lucky not so spin there. Unfortunatly I lost the direct contact with Fabri and Felix due to the contact and the aero damage made me a bit slower on the straight. I was able to stay within 5 seconds of the lead for the first half but was unable to close to Fabri who was the fastest on track at that moment. With 10 minutes to go we had a nice battle but a wobble in the chicane made me touch the wall very slightly, but the armco here is lethal and I had full red frontal damage and thought it was race over. I know I've destroyed a lot of 330's, 908s and GT40's in that corner, but this was my first 962 . I was reliefed to see I could continue, but I was 1,5 seconds slower at that point so I had to cruise for 3rd. I hope I can be as competitive next time as I seemed this round and avoid the incidents. We've gotta bring the fight to Felix, as he is heading for a 300 points championship

Didn’t have much time to practice for this race, or to happen upon a setup that worked, so was way off the pace. Does anyone fancy doing a tutorial for a complete numpty on car setups for the 962? Or perhaps I could just buy one.
This is the setup I used which I think I got from the setup market, but can't remember which one. I think it was created by a guy called speedge : https://www.dropbox.com/s/r0v5c6zcebkkto6/Porsche%20962%20ST%20Race.ini?dl=0Don't know if it's any good, but it kinda worked for me, but any feedback is welcome .

Ah good point about aero, I got a hefty thump up the jacksy in the early laps so that may have hindered me down the long sf straight My damage indicator no longer works for some reason, hasn’t for a while.

Thx Baikal I'll give it a go.
Me too! Like Chris I found the mirrors not that great with the rift. How come there is no rear view mirror in the 962? Did enjoy looking sideways at other cars I was battling though and definitely helped me avoid clouting any car when 3 abreast in the early lap1 corners I don't get you? It has 2 rear view mirrors? Group C was fuel burn limited at the end of the day. No one would go out of their way to make mirrors if they could eek a saving on the cars CD value.. Personally I love having to check them property in the 962, especially as they're angled correctly and therefore useless on a straight Also sorry to Jeffery, a message did pop up in s tracker saying I'd touched you, but even then I couldn't figure out where you were or had been

Felt I had decent pace here, but another dnf in the end.. Got caught up in several early incidents, then had a couple of silly ones of my own whilst trying to climb back up the order, each time understeering wide while trying to stick close to the car ahead. The second of these took me head on into the end of the Armco, game over.
Congrats podium.

Actually I would say I enjoyed the immersion of craning my neck to look in the wing mirrors to spot cars tailing me but they weren’t very good on the straight. I’m used to that as my real 911 only has ‘mouse-ear’ mirrors

My race was ruined by my guillibility again. During the first lap I've lost the braking point at the hairpin hitting the rear of Jeff's car. However Jeff was luckier than me whereas I restarted last and the best I could do was a come back to 4th position, that didn't happen cause I had a couple of contacts with Thomas that I didn't really understood, and Porco was able to gain the wood medal in my place Grats again to Felix for another great race and Fabri and Jeffrey for the podium. Hope to see you for the next with the 962 cause I'll surely jump the next with the 599XX

My race was literally a stroke of luck Qualified 9th, I had a slow start, but I was able to kept the position. At second corner Maikel hit the armco and he did a terrible crash. I was able to avoid only by my SA at the moment, no thought, I turned right to avoit the crash; after the race I realized that I had the left and the rear badly damaged. At clubhouse Jeffrey and Massimo had a contact, two other positions gained, but after two laps circa Thomas catch me and he did a fantastic overtake against me at first corner. Tried to kept fast pace, but thomas was a bit more fast, so I decided to save tyres and fuel. I thought, maybe somebody will have problem in the end... 1/2 of race circa Matteo too overtake me at the same place of thomas. Unfortunately I staked 10 mt before than others. With the car more light than the start, I had a good feel, so I started to push, but not much, the race is a bit more long. After two laps I saw the yellow flag, so I decided to raise my foot from the throttle: this save my race. At clubhouse 2 cars was steady in the track, and Matteo hit hardly the Thomas car that stayed in track! No thoughts again, I saw a passage between the cars, I got it and I passed unharmed. At 14 mins to the end of the race I used all my tyres and fuel saved to push as much as possible. After the race I read that another contact occurred between Santini and Thomas I finished in 4th position, at the bottom of the podium.
