Sorry Matt, I'm too knackered to drive tonight we seem to have been "chasing our tails" since our holiday in Cornwall. Unless rain stops preparation work for winter, I won't be in a fit state to race next week either, both GTL and RRE!

Was not prepared for this one, though we have run it before. Took me a few laps to get up to anything like speed, and then when we started, my steering seemed to go nuts, like the smallest turn on the wheel had the car darting left or right, had to learn to hold the wheel very tight, and put up with the violent vibrations on the straights got bored of it eventually, so when Mark left I quite too. We have no other R3E events planned. We could let it just die, or I can create some more events for all the current series. I don't mind doing that, but any thoughts?

That would be a shame, I really enjoy chucking these NSUs around a tight and twisty track. However I do appreciate the time you put in for such a poor return in participation If this is the end, a huge thanks for the time and effort you've put in to organising these events. If it's not the end, come on in everybody. The racing can be most rewarding.

For this race I was competitive in qually, but couldn't keep up in the race itself - I think the same happened last time we raced the NSUs here.. Congrats to Pete, but again a shame that we were the only finishers.
As to the series as a whole, yeah it would be a shame to see it end. I don't think any of us here that participate can quite fathom why it's such a graveyard, as we have had some cracking races. But it is what it is, and there is always an alternative (AC presumably) I guess. I doubt if I will be getting any new RRE content, as there hasn't been anything released in awhile that really interests me, and with the limited track roster we are going to start repeating the events that we have already done. I'll still be up for that though if we do decide to keep at it.

I was pleased to put some consistent laps in at the beginning but was struggling with yellow tyre warnings on the left hand side by 3/4 distance. I was looking at an old race result for these the other day and Spanner was in the 1:03 bracket so he was off form Thursday night. I also remember a real ding dong battle with Matt here before. It would have been a cracking contest if we'd all been on form.

I am happy to keep posting events, though my own enthusiasm is not what it was. It is unlikely that I will be posting Thursday AC events, as although Monday has been GTL for a while now and Thursdays have traditionally been similar classic cars as some of the more modern GTL cars Thursdays more recently has been limited by the Classic cars in R3E, and Weds AC events are now doing the some of the stuff that we would normally be doing Monday and Thursday so more AC on Thurs is not required.
I will post a few more events, and will continue up to Christmas, no worries. I was hoping that PC2 might be a worthy Thursday option, but my experience of it was very much not the case.

Shocked to realise it was the last event, shame it was the NSUs On one hand its been nice to have something to race on thursday nights, however it goes to show as no one reliased that it gets a bit monotonous, no idea whats being raced next, just felt like a series of individual events. Can understand if a bit burnt out. AC does modern and classic stuff! We can use AC more than once a week lol

But as discussed at some length, AC doesn't do nice easy matched car groups like R3E does. AC needs to be single spec races, or an insane amount of testing needs to be done by the organiser. I used to spend many hours testing for P&G only to find that what I thought was a well matched group was not at all matched when turned up. I am not opposed to using any sim, I have no great affiliation with anything in particular, But I like the R3E cars we use, as they mostly handle well, and I like the preconfigured groups, which to me are a friendly choice for league racing.

Single spec races perfectly fine with me. If I have a spare half hour I sometimes fire up a quick offline race in AC with all Escorts, or Alfa GTAs, or Porsche 718s, or Toyota AE86s etc etc. Many retro choices and you hardly ever see them online. That's why I enjoyed Jeffrey's recent Porsche RSR series, and also looking forward to the upcoming Lotus 25s. Single spec and good fun.
Or we can carry on doing what we're doing. We'll probably get the same low turnout either way..
Btw - anyone else got Wreckfest? Handling model is not a patch on AC or RRE but it makes me smile every time..!
