Moderator's Report

At end of warmup lap Ossie engages his pit limiter at apex of La Source hairpin even though Jan, and most others immediately in front, had not. Predictably, those in front pull away from Ossie who then disengages his limiter to catch up again. Dan Minton, who is immediately behind Ossie, doesn't put his limiter on until Ossie does for second time but Madd-RIP, who is two cars back, follows Ossie's lead and engages his at hairpin but keeps it on until start of race. Therefore Madd-RIP, and those behind, are left with a substantial gap to make up even before race has started.

I believe that Ossie makes two mistakes here. Firstly he puts his limiter on too early. The rules state that they should be engaged around 20 seconds before start but he first puts them on, at hairpin, quite a way before then and before those in front do. Secondly, he then disengages it to catch up with those in front when the rules state that this should only be done when the driver in front has disengaged theirs. Luckily, this didn't have dangerous repercussions futher down the field becuase Madd reacted sensibly and kept his limiter engaged. Or else the confusing turning on/off of limiter, and sudden accelerating/decelerating, just before the start could have proved dangerous for those behind him.

Spanner runs off track, and into the sand, at Pouhon. He then appears to take all the necessary caution for a rejoin until he gets to the grass on the edge of track, where he accelerates too early and spins into middle of track where he is stationary for just a moment. Unfortunately Purdie comes around the corner immediately after, can not avoid Spanner and there is a big impact which drops Purdie from 1st to 9th.

I had no idea what actually happened at the bus stop Mark. I just felt a little bump and you were gone. Sorry if I played any part in it.

Great race again that, very very enjoyable  Grin

Did a pb in qualli, 1/1000 quicker  Roll Eyes than my previous...still only put me 22nd though.

Race went superb...I reckon it was my best performance consistency wise since joining here...I'nt it good when you stay on track...new experience for me Grin....Had a great battle trying to keep a big black mossler behind for a few laps (sorry not sure who it was...wouldn't dare hit my 'look behind' for fear of cocking up as usual), great racing though.

Got up to 17th overall through folk falling off the road and was holding it just from Edam Speed on the last lap...he had been hauling me in at over a sec a lap and was only 1 sec behind aproaching the bus stop on the last lap....when my FPS went to hell and I basically stopped letting both Edam and teamie Munkez through....gutted.

Ah well, thats on line racing I supose :'(

Grats to winners and podiums....bring on the Viper  Cheesy

Also what I noticed tonight is 30KG ballast is too much for me. Although I understand the reason for it I can't compete against guys who have similar ability and I'm +30KG and they are -20KG. Most of the field seemed to be -20KG tonight.

Totally forgot Paul also overtook me at some time   Roll Eyes. Can't even remember how he did it Embarrassed.

I had that problem in the Upper endurance race, I was powerless and couldn't do anything. Unable to attack, outbrake, outaccelerate etc.
I also understand the weightsystem, but I don't like the -20kg at all. Around 80% of the drivers had -20 kg, which seems useless to me  Undecided

hehe, i must have had extra ballast in the form of 20minutes too much fuel onboard  Roll Eyes Embarrassed  I was a sitting duck for the Ferraris for the first half of the race up through Eau Rouge and Kemmel  Sad

Totally no fault of yours Brian at bus stop angel, i think my car only spun as i had inside wheels on the kerb and the side scrape was enough to flick it around.

Had a good battle with Gizmo, Priberio for a long time, but with same wing setting as me Gizmo was still a little faster on the straights somehow and it was impossible to pass without a mistake. He didn't oblige seemingly driving much smoother with his G25 now. With 8 minutes to go my soft fronts went to pot and that was that, was barely drivable. It was dire with 20+ wear onwards eventually finishing just below 30 wear (when the little man tells you to change them). Spoiled a good, fight, but I was half expecting it after opting to not run mediums on the front. Running softs at least gave me a chance to fight with them for most of the race.

Then at the end going through bus stop FPS went down very low as finishers were doing dougnuts a mile away at Eau Rouge. Then come to La Source and it was literally undriveable diong about 0.5fps, eventually subsiding as people stopped doughnuts and I could drive again to finish. Unfortunately by that time I had lost a place with my car probably freezing on track. Jeff told me afterwards that is probably "Simple Debris Collisions" bug, which I didn't know about, so I will have that turned on from now on.

P.S. -20kg did me fook all good.

Firstly, sorry to Jan Duijs for the start - I got a moment's lag, and it slowed down the release of the rev-limiter.. Sorry Sad

Then I was chasing Darren's splintery wooden ass for quite a few laps. Backo ran wide at Pouhon, but it wasn't long before he was in front of me again and I was chasing two splintery wooden asses Wink Meanwhile Ossie in the the gruesome greenie had chucked it sideways into the Bus Stop, and I nearly went off from laughing so hard Cheesy Cheesy How you avioded me and Backo - was a miracle  Grin

Carried on for a few laps with Jan in hot pursuit, then I got distracted when the phone started ringing. The inevitable was a spin at the top of Eau Rouge, and dropping loads of places. Rejoined behind Madd RIP and chased him for a few laps, driving erratically as I was still distracted and had busted up front end aero. Then Dan Minton spun at Bus Stop, we briefly touched (sorry) and then I chased him for a few laps, although he was a lap down on me at this point. Madd RIP fell off a few laps later, and then after a while so did Dan. This left me chasing Psuedo, although it looked like I wasn't going to make it past him before the end. Munkez briefly joined the fray, after going wide at Pouhon, but slid wide at La Source, letting me past to chase down Psuedo.

On the final lap, Psuedo had a 'low framerate issue' at Stavelot and went off into the barriers, and moments later, I found Shark asleep at La Source - sorry about robbing you of that place so close to the end.. Huh Sad

Exactly the same thing here :'( cost me two places...so does turning on 'simple debris' cure this? coz it's happened frequently recently.

It might manage to make the season championship table a bit more compressed but in terms of close action at the front, it does not always help.

I've benefited in other classes. Suffer a disco and you are last and have light car next race.

In this class I have missed a race already this season but my ballast carries over from two other positive results.

I'm just trying to add up why so few drivers actually have positive ballast of any note, apart from me and you.

I know how to get there from the homepage, I just thought there was a link to that page under the results in the forum. That's the one I couldn't find, probably as it isn't there  Tongue Grin.

Yes it will. Having it turned off will make the game calculate exactly how every bit of debri flies off the car. And as people like to finish with a bang after the finish, it will overload your PC. No matter what kind of PC you have, it will always cause HUGE FPS drops.
