Thanks Tony for this excellent Series, pity I had to miss so many of the races; looking forward to the next Series.  Spoilt for choice of cars but found that the 970 Mini suited me here with it's chuckablity - reminded me of my 997cc (pre BMC 998 cc engine) Mini Cooper.  Spent most of the time flat out; my qualifying time is the fasted I've ever done in a Mini and I've race the standard GTL Mini here many times.

Got left at the start but managed to avoid incidents, Mini's agility. Managed to stay ahead of the cars involved in incidents for a few laps before I ran wide on one of the faster sections losing most of the places I'd gained.  After that had a few battles with a couple of other drivers but when they dropped out I continued in my customary last place where I finished.

.........reminded me of my 997cc (pre BMC 998 cc engine) Mini Cooper.

I get very envious whenever you mention this Bill  Cool

I'm trying to think who won the Team championships in this series as I don't believe it was mentioned.......oh Yes, it was those Kerbcrawlers again  Wink Cheesy

Thanks for putting this together Tony. Wish I could have made more races in this series and hope to make up for it next year.

hey Tony,

just to your attention:

there also exists an "EARL-mod" for GTL which contains the GTC-65 class,
also created by nappe1.

Possibly both could be combined for season13 ??

What a great race this was. Even before the start it was like F-1 style qualy as I thought I would be the last one to set a time with seconds to go at the line. Then I saw Mark maybe 3-4 seconds behind and even though I put in my best lap of the day and had current pole Mark grabbed it by about 1/10th of a second!! Good show!! Cool The race went a little better at first with me getting a demon start and then seeing Mark and Hristo battling it out. That did not last and although I was trying to gap Mark he did close down on me and started pushing me harder than I wanted to go so when going downhill into turn 3(Charlies) I went a bit deep and Mark was right on it through to first. I really wasn't happy with the car with full fuel but after a time found a balance and started to copy Marks lines around the track and found some speed. I was able to close down on Mark and put some pressure. Mark was super fast in the first sector of the track but to do this you really had to do that walk a tightrope on the outside of turn 3 to get a good exit and when I saw him just barley drop a couple of wheels I knew the track would suck him in as that's a real bad spot for that. I got through and had maybe a 4 second lead at that point. I knew we were so close in lap time if I could just go at like 95-97% speed that would reduce the chance of an error and hopefully be enough to get to the end in 1st. And at first Mark was closing in at 1/10 -2/10 a lap I would then see a drop of a few 1/10ths and the gap more or less remained the same. In the end it was enough and as usual was a treat to drive at this wonderful track Smiley

First off a biggest of congrats to Mark for the overall and second div Championship clap thumbup2 clap

Then I see a tie for the 1st div Championship between Mark and Goldtop both with 3 wins and 1 second place finish. No other races run in div by either so how do we break the tie?
Either way Congrats to you both Mark and Goldtop clap thumbup2 thumbup2 clap

Grats to big boss Tony for his second overall and third in div 1 Championship  clap thumbup2 clap

Grats to Matt for 2nd place in div 2  clap thumbup2 clap

Grats as well to Geoffers for his 3rd place in div 2 and the overall Championship clap thumbup2 clap

And most of all just a big thank you Tony for putting yet another successful series together clap thumbup1 clap
