I agree completely with Geoffers (with the exception of the Mini ) Agreed. The last thing we want is a Mini race! The slow cars do give a good race but I'm usually bored rigid with the thing by the time that the race starts! This means that I do less practice and thus get even slower.

Mini's ? Just love'm, and they always provide close racing. If you get bored practicing, don't :-))

I never do much practice anyway, because practice (by definition) is boring. Why would I want to practice when I can race somewhere else, or fly one of my lovely FSX planes around the UK?

each to their own i guess, but i dont feel any desire to sim race a slow car the tedium gets alleviated on a smaller circuit but any GP track or long straight is just dull in a slow sim car. Maybe i am spoilt by having a quick light car in the real world hence feeling no need to sim-race a slow old bucket ! Will still race it but enthusiasm will be low and like Clive, i probably wont bother practising much. As for practise, some of us need it, we havent got natural sim racing talent for 'any car at any track' If i turn up on a race night without any, i usually flounder or am well off the pace and then i dont enjoy it. There are so many quick guys on here that without any practise your looking at the back end of the grid or a visit to the scenery. I quite like praccy anyway, if i have the spare time and i like the car, its rewarding setting a car up better than you started with

I am with Geoffers, is more or less what I was trying to say. I think if we ran minis and Cortinas every week you would have grounds for complaint or not turning up But we don't. We run quite different cars in different series, true there is a lot of overlap sometimes but one week we are driving GT40s and Corvettes on a wide track, next week we run smaller slower easier cars on a tighter track. Variety is the curry of life. I need practice in whatver and wherever it is even if I know the track, unless it's a car/track combo I have used often, I still need to know whether the fronts are going to overheat/wear out before the rears so i can make a setup that will still be drivable at race end. It's a boon that now in PG3 there is often one or another Pork that can run in class, whereas in PG2 the RSRs were either too fast or too slow.
I put no effort into making practice fun, all I care about is whether it will be a good race.

Something is not quite right with this track ... or my install is not good (not likely because I have second install for testing and have same problem)...
Can`t get timed lap at all like I`m not on track ... and MoTec shows session but not lap times.
Could that be only offline problem?

I have noticed that it doesn't create a TT folder or a setup folder. It files everything under Anderstorp.
Works ok once you have found the files. Syd put my TT lap in his Anderstorp folder and was able to see it from a TT session too.

Noticed this too. I always create a folder for each car and then name the track setup within.....saves me trying to remember where I raced the car before Unfortunately I lost most of my setups in my recent Win7 moment so have had to start from scratch No trouble with logging laps in game or in xd here Ed, so maybe worth investigating. Anyone got any times yet? I'm in the low 1:21s but not inspired to do any more practice in that horrible Healey.

Problem solved but don`t know how. Downloaded from nogrip and that one worked fine (with problems that you and Clive mentioned) than erase that and put from link in first post again and no problems registering lap times. Considering lap times - same here with low 21`s

I've reached the conclusion that there just isn't a good gear ratio for these gutless heaps!

Wonder of wonders I am here for this race! then away, then back, then away then back.... With all the discos going on I am tempted to try my backup server for this event... Likely to be a few wets who won't turn up, so might be worth trying. I am not confident it will reliably support 28 runners, but I would like to try it so we have something to compare with. If it looks dodgy in prac/qual, then I can always kick off the "proper" server for the race in a minute or two. Any thoughts? objections?
